BMW M6 Competition Edition Coupe coming. Only 120 produced.

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
M6 Competition Edition reportedly coming to commemorate launch of the M6 GT3 race car.

Very nice car; but, is it on the up and up? Oh, and, ostensibly, for the US market only.

I think right now they're doing Competiton Package for 2016, but only with DCT, no manual. Manual cannot handle the power, they think. A friend in Austria just got his M6 comp pack cabrio this week.

Does anybody on here know how to query how many manual M6s, or M6 GCs, have been/will be built in 2016? My dealer guy says his query of scheduled M6 GC production / delivery (so already delivered ones like mine don't count) shows 119 in the pipeline, and just one (1) with a manual transmission. In Silverstone, on the way to a specific customer In California. One out of 119 seems really low! Can that be?

So that makes 3 of us!

Wonder who this new guy is, since he's in CA- that would definitely be interesting running into another manual m6.

Yes, GT3 was announced to be limited production, at 120 units, dealers will be adding a premium on top of the sticker, especially here in Cali. I'd check with Crevier in Santa Ana, where I bought my M6, they had a larger allocation than many other dealers and didn't markup my car over sticker, when I couldn't find it anywhere else in SoCal.

Very nice car; but, is it on the up and up? Oh, and, ostensibly, for the US market only.
Do you have the link to this page?
It's interesting that Head-Up Display is part of Executive package ($5100)
http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...YourOwnRD.aspx
But in this pic, there is an extra 1300 charge HUD...
Also do you have any detail on the Competition Edition Accessories which costs 17.5k? LOL

No, but the car is mentioned on another website, sans any real details, but, mentioning the car will show up at Frankfurt. Beginning to look like the real deal.

It appears they are listed (or at least, partially listed) on the right side page which has the headline "BMW M6 Competition Edition, M performance Accessories." I see MP Exhaust, M performance Steering Wheel, M Performance gear selector, M Performance Carbon Rear spoiler and rear diffuser and M Perf. carbon Mirror caps. Sound like 17.5K?

What I got a kick out of was the decision tree on the bottom ride side. The last decision asked about was "How Many?"

What may be missing from the accessories list is the upgraded BMW M PERFORMANCE CARBON CERAMIC BRAKE SYSTEM for the M6. That has a 15k price tag by itself. (http://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/44...C-BRAKE-SYSTEM). If it's on the car, then it would add about $5,745 to the Carbon Brakes cost, $9,250, shown on the sticker. That would take the whole carbon accessories shebang to over 17.5K
We'll figure this out, yet. While waiting the start of NFL football.

When they introduce "Competition Edition" it should be a lot cheaper than the combination of items by themselves. For example, the M sport Edition of 650i is the combination of HUD, M Sport, DA, Adaptive LED, Digital instruments , Soft close door, leather instrument, etc for $4800 while only M sport package worth $4400HUD and the rest are just $400!!!
So as you said it's all about "///M Mark-up"

Um... the price already included $9250 for CCB. It's supposed to be installed in factory instead of steel brakes... so it's like you order the CCB for 9250!

Greetings all! New to the board here and this thread caught my attention right away. Just took possession of my 2016 a week ago and had a lot of these same questions/concerns. My 2012 550xi was off lease as of 6/21 and I typically order the next car 2 months out however the competition package and the ceramic brakes together weren't orderable together in the US until June 30. Miraculously, even with the typical August plant shutdowns in Germany, they managed to get my car on the boat in time to deliver it last week.

I've attached a screenshot of my build sheet with the US MSRP for just about every option including the options contemplated in this thread. Hopefully it's useful.

Even adding individual frozen color (Frozen Black for example) for extra 3k (5k compare to 2k) and individual full merino leather (5k) you are still at 150k!
Looks like that 17.5k Competition edition is including individual Full leather (5K) and individual frozen color (5K)...

I agree with everything you say about M markup.
All I was trying to point out was, for the M6, there seems to be two different CCB options. One option is ordered through the "Build your own" M6 screen and is offered, as you say, at $9250. The second CCB option costs $14,995 and is shown/ordered through this screen http://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/44...C-BRAKE-SYSTEM. This second option, although not listed, may be on the M6 CE and raising its price.

This is the same CCB even the same part number.
The thing is when you order the CCB from factory, they build the car with this CCB and (BMW) save some money on steel brakes and ship the car with CCB to you; however if someone has not ordered the CCB and has got the car with steel brakes wants to upgrade, dealers charge him 15k... he will pay this money and will have the CCB on his car and the spare steel brakes in his garage

Same part number says it all. Good point, hadn't thought about BMW keeping the steel brakes and saving money.

The title of the thread and parts of the OP seems to be a bit misleading...

It claims this car is a US only edition, but from the info sheet posted in the OP it clearly says "limited to 120 units worldwide"...

In my geography lessons I understood that worldwide included more countries than the US

I'm one of the biggest BMW fans, but it would be a no brainier to buy a 911 GT3 for that price with spare cash for tires and track days.
