M6 with 19" wheels

Since it seems most people have opted for the 20" wheels, I thought I would share a picture of my car that has the 19" wheels. Since I live in NYC, my thinking was that a larger sidewall would be better able to withstand NYC's roads, and I thought the 19" wheels looked great with my car's Singapore Grey color. Also, I drove the M6 with 20" wheels and the carbon ceramic brakes, and the brakes are loud, and not great for everyday driving, so unless you plan on doing a lot of racing, so you may want to consider foregoing the 20" wheels and/or the carbon ceramic brakes (when they are offered next year). The picture is from the PC, in front of the Zentrum, as I took deliver of my car this week. Also, while driving my car up from the PC, I found the lane departure warning a useful highway safety feature, the active seats are amazing for a long trip, and a good radar detector is a must for this car, and is not impacted by the lane departure warning.

Wink Thanks for the info!

I was debating between the 20 and 19's. I like the aggressive look of the 20's but want the larger sidewall for the comfort and potholes. But really, I will probably be getting an Alpine white and plasti-dipping the wheels Matte Black. I saw another one with the same color combo and it was Striking. So, wheel design isn't that important and the 19's look fine enough. The wheels I really like are the E39 wheels. Those were one of the best imho...

I was thinking about the Active suspension, but, no pun intended, I don't like my butt being crooked for any length of time. I will just have to exit the vehicle on long trips and stretch it out.

Thanks for the heads up on the ceramic Brakes. I like quiet...lol

Please let us know what your experiences were with the vehicle after you have experienced it a bit.

I now have over 1200 miles on the car, and will have my break-in service on Monday. First, the car is extremely fast, and has a great ride -- perfect as a true GT car. A good radar/laser detector is a must since this car gets up to speed quickly, and 100 mph feels like nothing. The head up display is fantastic, and I use it all the time. Unless you are racing the car, I would not bother with MDM mode, as you will need the full traction control for this car in daily driving. The car feels extremely solid, and you can feel its weight. It has been described as a monster, and it fits, but it is fun to drive, and is reasonably nimble. Hope that helps.

The 19's are .5" wider. Both wheels are very nice.
