Amazon alexa in the new I drive ??

Just seen this video that BMW integrated Amazon Alexa now in its newer I drive.

Do you think we can retrofit ??
Maybe just buy the little echo dot and stick it in the cup holder

Or is it just too gimmicky?

Tell me your thoughts guys

When I was researching my car I was so excited about all the little tricks the new iDrive would offer for a 2014 650i. Then I got the car and played with it. So many things either flat out don't work or are so buggy they're useless. I'm looking at you facebook app, office, and internet browser. I wonder how much it will actually do. I have tried getting my siri to play nice with my Sonos setup at home and it's like trying to get 4 year old twins to cooperate.

that's so true I tried to get apps but the browser said it wasn't connected i just want the weather app to know if i should get a car wash or not the only thing i do like it being able to use the bmw connected app to enter in the destination on my phone. its way easier than using the I drive to input it

You may not have an active internet subscription through BMW. You're not missing much though.
