M6....or new M4 ??

I know this is a 6 forum (no 4 series forum yet) but.... is it just me or does the new M4 Coupe look like a mini M6 Coupe?? I'm starting to like this and it has a 6 speed (Canada only got automatics in the 6!!)....... and it's got a back seat you can actually sit in!! I'm more than interested !!

As far as options and crreature comforts, I'll bet there will be lots!!

More M4 renders in different colors @ http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=779847

This really isnt' a serious comparison.

By the time the M4 hits the market (the earliest probably being sometime in late 2014 or early 2015), the M6 will be transitioning to a new model.

So the real question is whether you want the F12 M6 now and spend 120k, or wait 2-3 years for F82 M4 and save the 120k now put it in a bank and earn interest and then spend about 90k in 3 years.

And let's not forget the likely 30k in price differential between the two cars, even in present value.

OH F*!K ME!!!!! I'm so trading in my 650 for the new M4. I've been contemplating trading in my 2012 650 for 2013 M6, after seeing this pic, I know what I want!!!!

My primary intent at a comparison was only "appearance-wise" The M4 renders look like a mini 6 series coupe. IMHO

We currently have the 2012 650i X-Drive coupe with less than 5ooo miles. It's paid for. The $$$ for the new M4 are already in the bank collecting interest! So, that does not enter into the equasion. We do love the 6 but at times, really do wish it had seating capacity in the rear.

Another reason........ strictly personal......... we want to take delivery in Germany and visit for a month or so!! Selfish, I know.

I prefer the larger GT's so give me the M6...

On another note.. BMW needs to make a supercar... Something to compete with the SLS AMG.. Maybe a V12?..

I'm curious to see if the 4er retains the rear seat space of the 3 Series. The roofline looks sloped like the 6er, so I worry that the headroom might be an issue. Hopefully the leg room in the 3er will be retained...

This car looks really beautiful! If you want rear seats you can actually use I think the Gran Coupe in 4 or 6 is the way to go! If you don't care about rear seats go for the coupe! The 4 coupe would be my choice than. But as Gran Coupe I prefer the 6 series.

They are different cars for different segments and owner profiles. Besides, M4-4KIX would sound like a typo.

BMW already have a V12, it's the 760i.
Why they don't put it in other cars, I have no idea.

Word is they are going to phase out the V12 for the upcoming 7er.

When you do buy a 4GC, hit me up and we can do European Delivery together! I'm holding out for the 4GC myself.

[QUOTE=roadsta;13339510]M6. (But do not plaster all those fake M badges on it.)

R.[/QUOTE

I now only have the "M" on the trunk.. bit of a stretch, I know, but it does have the M pkg. All the other "Fake M Badges" were installed at the BMW factory! Nothing we can do about that..... unless there's a "Fake M Badge" delete option we haven't seen??

Now I know I'm really going to get some flack for this one.......... just been told our "M specific" rear deck spoiler is in and ready for install. Can't wait to see that.

I've been told possibly 2014 for the M4 availability, so another 5 or 6,000 mi on the 6er before we're back to Mexico (5 months starting this Nov 1st.)

The thread was meant for an "artistic comparison only" as we think the renders are similar to the M6. Our reasons for possible purchase are 6 speed std,.. rear seating capacity,..and the European Delivery with a month's vacation thrown in. So..... 2014 looks pretty good to me. Meanwhile we will continue with the F13 and enjoy every minute. We do love this car.

Pics to come with spoiler installed............ then the "slamming" (from the purists) can once again begin. .............

Hunter......... love your car !! And (M4 Renders) look very, very similar. Headlights, tail lights side profile, same wheels. Yours look "stealth & slick" at the same time. Wish we could tint the drivers and pass front windows (but about a $200 fine!!) Good job.

After just completing the 2-day M School, I'm going to have to say M4 over M6 assuming that an M4 Individual interior can very nearly match that of the 6's, which cannot be said now of the M3.

The M3 coupe on the highly technical PC track was nothing short of perfect. However, the interior was abominable compared to the M6/6 Series. On the track, I didn't give the interior a second glance. Sitting in the pit, I couldn't stop looking at all of the plastic, dated gauges, and general boringness of the interior.

Hey 22 You are so lucky to do that!! My thoughts (and only my thoughts) are that BMW will position the new M4 in a new and younger market.......... ( sorry, but I do think you are the "spring chicken" in the 6er group) It will have the size, shape, back seat......... and all the up scale BMW options available at time of launch??? After all the 4 series is exactly the number between 1 and 8........... all the other series. So, you must ask yourselves, is this simply a coincident?????? or marketing plan???

It will be nice!!............... can you say "European Delivery" boys and girls??

I love stirring the pot!!

Very clever. Both are good but M4-EVER has a better ring to it.
