Completely agree, especially when turning around curbs at low speeds. I now turn on top-view when I'm near low obstacles - it's really good as a wheel rim saver.

Lack of Soft-Close doors!
I have a soft-close retrofit kit for the Gran Coupe for sale. Complete set from BimmerTech including door locks and wiring harness. I'm in the US for easy shipping to all you Gran Coupe owners in the US!
This is a great option for those of us who didnt have the option when early MY13's were built. Happy to answer any questions! -Karl

The blind spots do suck, but you get used to them. I wish I had gotten the top view camera, but I'm coping.

You might just be my hero that I was looking for. What's the price and how tough is the installation?

Yes to this. Please tell us more about how the retro fit for soft close options on a 2013 GC. Thank you!

I find the reversing lights very poor. They're ok as a supplement to street lighting, but pretty useless if you're reversing into an unlit lane or driveway. I reckon a candle stuck on the back bumper would emit more light

I've got them on mine and don't really see the fascination (although my GF does love them). I wouldn't consider bothering a retrofit if I didn't have them, Infact I'd gladly swap them for kick to open and power trunk.

I think you are taking it for granted because you have it. On my car, I have to slam it twice almost every time because it is so springy! Also, the aerodynamic of the car traps dust on the edge of the lid where I use to push it down. I don't like dust on my hand.

I think you misunderstood my post. I have soft close doors, which I don't think are a big deal. I wish I had power trunk/kick to open trunk and would gladly give up my soft close doors for that feature instead.

I agree the trunk is a PITA, I also have to slam it several times due to the springy nature of the mechanism and lightness of the trunk itself. And I also agree the little lip collects dust, so I'd rather not touch it.

Garage List
The rear does seem to have a tendency to collect dust and pollen. I waxed my car a few weekends ago and the pollen has finally let up. I've actually made it 4 days since washing, and the car looks good - a month ago it would be horrible by the next morning thanks to the pollen + Carbon Black combo. The only part of the car that is showing the dirt right now is the trunk lid and rear bumper. I guess the aerodynamics of this car cause this; it seems worse than many of my previous cars. Oh well, better to have a dirty butt than a Bangled Butt.

For me it's the lack of a soft close trunk and the poor brightness of the reverse lights at night (I should mention that I have tinted windows and that doesn't help).

Seriously, if this was the worst quality then we should all be so lucky.

I'm beginning to think the worst quality in this car is hearing about the Drivetrain Malfunctions.

I don't have the comfort mode that you guys have and I always wonder if I am short changed. I only have normal, sports and sports+.

I also got the soft close retrofitted and it's a must have for me now that I have it. I needed it so badly when it wasn't there. quite easy to change, just need the door cards to be out and door locks swapped. I had it done by a workshop who specialises in this.

=)
