M6 Gran Coupe v M5

Why would anyone choose the M5 over the M6 GC?

Maybe it'll be a bit more expensive but at those prices any difference is more like a rounding error than a deal breaker.

Is BMW cannabalizing the M5 with M6 GC?

There's an almost $25k difference in price in the US between the 550 and the 650GC. I'd expect that difference to carry over to the M models. That's hardly a rounding error for most people.

Look upon the M6 Gran Coupe as the ultimate expression of the M statement , in otherwords because of the progressive seismic shift of the market of enthusiast brands to becoming a brand that is more about that symbol of status in key strategic markets.

M6 Gran Coupe is the ultimate expression of an M flagship car which is where it will sit - A combination of exclusivity in both luxury and performance aimed primarily at the markets that rever these cars as status symbols.

The car is about to go on a tour of Asia where cars like these thrive.

So according to you the only reason to buy an M6 GC over an M5 is to make up for sub-par genitalia?

Geez.... Sounds you are very offended by the M6 GranCoupe taking the being the flag bearer for the M.......

Just as for almost all luxury items, your statement CAN BE true for people who can't afford the item and is experiencing sour grape syndrome......

No. I am not bothered by people owning cars that are expensive. Hell I wish more did because I enjoy seeing them on the road.

What I don't like is that M cars are being TAILORED to people that just want a status symbol (i.e. people with something to make up for). If you buy the car for other reasons I was not referring to you, so please disregard my previous statement and enjoy your car.

Not sure I understand your point, all current M cars are tailored towards a certain buyer, and its a buyer that can afford luxury and loves to drive. Who do you think are buying $100K+ cars, it's not kids who love to drive, it's successful people who can afford such toys

I think the M5 has plenty of tradition behind the name to prevent BMW from shooting themselves in the foot by introducing the M6 GC.

I think the price is not much of an issue in this category. The M6 will surely be pricy as a 640i GC can run > $110k (more than a well-spec'd M5), but customers at this level will pretty much get whichever car is most pleasing to him/her. The options list on these cars run in the $20k to $30k range, so that alone can be manipulated to buy the preferred car between the two, assuming price is considered.

If gentiles and cars are all guys worry about consider yourselves lucky. Women are some of the most vicious creatures on the planet. Take the Petraeus scandal for example. We bitcxx can be nasty beyond our own common sense. Ask Jill Kelley. Anyone ever heard of her. Now you have. Stupid BITCx. Of course Paula Broadwell for all her so called "Intelligence" is not looking too smart either. Sometimes it's embarrassing to admit to being a woman. Anyways I thought this thread was funny. Resume…

There is a pretty big price difference between a m6 gc and a m5. A fully loaded m5 is about 110k, a fully loaded 650gc is about 122k, so I am guessing a fully loaded m6 gc will be about 140k or at least really close to it.

Well, I think sub-par genitalia is something women care about too, no?

I guess some woman do. I guess I dodged that bullet. Born in Spain my husband walked away with some good genes. Thanks hun. But it's his brains that's really an awesome trait that keeps me happy and in love.

Why would I buy a M6 GC when I can buy a M5 AND a new 335 for same price?

I just did side-by-side builds on the 550/650GCxi and had a difference of $22k, so the question should be: Why would I buy a M6 GC when I can buy a M5 AND a new Hyundai Elantra for same price?

That's pretty simple, I don't want a Hyundai Elantra parked anywhere near my driveway.
