M6 vert owners, please chime in

Those that own or have owned M6 verts, what are your likes and dislikes? Thx in advance.

The wind deflector feels flimsy. Car can be noisy at highway speeds even when top is up.

Love everything about it. If you lower it the center of gravity is absolutely perfect. Allows you to really throw out the rear end and control it.

I'm going agree with Coldlist on this and say there isn't really anything I don't love. Other than the leather being a nightmare to keep clean but that has as much to do with it being platinum as convertible.

Thanks for the replies. I have had some tell me they thought the M6 and especially the convertible felt heavy. What are your opinions. I am coming out of a 2013 M3 coupe, so I know it'll feel heavier, but is it burdensome?

I am loving my M6 and all the looks/thumps up when the top is down . Car does feel a little heavy when driving slow and turning but M1 mode fixes that real quick!!!!. I added an Eisenmann exhaust (race) and the sound is very nice even with the top down.....not too loud IMO...but I am around a lot of exotics in my area so loud exhaust and cracks are common....and my wife and her friends love it...but she is too afraid to drive it (thinks it has too much power) which is perfect for me!!!

Yep it's going to feel heavy to you. Burdensome? I doubt it. You get used to it. You definitely will not have the nimble feeling of the M3 but I honestly think the cab is the best of the bunch when it comes to the M6 lineup. The power will definitely compensate for anything you miss about the M3 (well maybe-prob will miss how she takes corners but it's a trade-off I guess. Depends what you are looking for in a car. If it's power then you wont miss the M3. If it's cornering then you'll just have to get used to early braking and pushing it to the floor when you exit the turns. She makes up lost ground very quickly.)Something about how sleek it looks with the top down. And like I was saying...lower it and it looks and feels sick! And the exhaust note is just perfect. I added the Cyba carbon slant cut tips and DPs and it is sooooooo nice! Deep and throaty without being over the top. Sounds like a finely tuned piece of machinery. Could not be better. Hardly want to turn the radio on with the top down. Just look at this sexy beauty!

It's probably the best looking of the lineup, definitely more 'fun' if you have people to share it with while driving.

Coming out of an M3, don't know what your priorities are, but if you're looking for more of a drivers car this had an impact on me. Best advice, go drive one.

Loved the looks, hated the weight and creaking and lack of rigidity for the convertible. Best advice is try to drive both and make your own decision. One is more about style and top down fun, the other is more a drivers car. I have had each and went back to the coupe for the lines, weight, and rigidity.

Thanks Phil!

Although I must confess the GC wheels were my wife's choice. I technically bought the car "for her" and I had to convince her to let me do a few subtle mods (front and rear spoilers, blackout kit, Cyba car of slant cut tips, lowering) and then I went for wheels and showed her every HRE and ADV.1 on the planet and she didn't like them. Went to Tim's shop (starchild) and saw his GC so we swapped the wheels to see what they would look like and they really worked well. She loved it so we got some!

When I traded the M5 for the 991 I also put the DPs on the M6. Wow does it sound just so perfect with OEM exhaust! Something about the cab exhaust that just sounds better than the other M6 variants and I don't think it is just because the of the top because they sound better on the outside of the car too. Tim and I commented about this when he first pulled his in next to his coupe and GC. Not sure if something is different or what but they just sound great. After we added the DPs I was following my wife home in my truck and I rolled the windows down so I could listen every time she stomped on it. LOVE that M6 cab!

Yeah! Honestly, I prefer those 433M GC wheels over all other aftermarket stuff I've seen so far! Just amazing how clean it looks, especially with a slight drop! So well done Coldlist, your wife got a badass ride!!

I sure do hope that it's the most badass car ever, because I've never driven one, but my white on sakhir orange car is coming this friday!

Anyone have any regrets with their f13 vert? I had an E60 M5, and an X5 M before this.

A few things that I wish were included are
1. The rear deck spoiler as the coupe. But I purchased the part and had my BMW dealer painted and installed it.
2. The coupe also comes with a front chin guard (diffuser) that is made of rubber. Also purchased and had it installed.
3. Have the Silverstone leather and it is very hard to keep clean as others posted.
4. The brake dust is "muddy" and it difficult to keep clean. Leaves muddy spots in garage and driveway.
Other than that, the car is beautiful and a blast to drive. The M1 button takes care of and issues as needed. Had it on the Nurburgring doing about 130 with no issues.
