I hear you. All current M cars are torque monsters. I can easily go side way just with a little more throttle even with all nannies on; however I have learned how to have fun in MDM mode and still have fully control on M6. I don't like AWD because to me the joy of driving is in RWD. With the situation you explained, don't even think about current generation of M6. This car will definitely kill you. She is a big monster... There is a big open area in backyard and I always go there to do some crazy stuff in DSC OFF mode when no one is there... It's really scary when you feel a 4200 lb , 193" long car is trying to be out of your control... BUT it's fun

Holy shit! Why is that car SO heavy?? It is not that much bigger than the m4... The m4 has bigger leg room in the back...

But you are right, I would kill myself with that car... I drive too fast and too recklessly for it... But someday I'll grow up.

Be safe bruh! I was SO lucky I didn't kill myself with that m4. Too much power for me to handle.

Actually I don't call it heavy! It's really a well balanced car and needs to have more weight than M4 because of a lot more power and torque and must be able to handle... bigger engine compartment, different suspension, brake system, more luxury features with more DC motors (ie seats, soft close doors, steering wheel adjustment, etc)... These are all I was trying to highlight earlier. Adding more DC motor means more weight. Have you noticed how wide and heavy your 6 er doors are compare to your M4? You know how much heavier V8TT (S63tu)engine is compare to I6TT (S55)? M6 is about 9" longer, has bigger wheels and tires, longer wheel base with a heavy drive shaft (compare to CF one in M4) and a lot more thing...

And of course if you don't want to avail yourself of the feature -just slam away and override the soft close.

Does make me chuckle when guys comment about leave it off and save the weight. Kidding right? About 2 pounds total. Then why not leave off the power folding mirrors, motorized roundel camera, sunroof/rear window power sunshades. 20 way power seats, B & O motorized center speaker, cooled seats, HUD. I could go on. This is a luxury GT, want something light get the new Miata.
Maybe the coupe needs them more? However the GC does not need them at all.

And if you think that adds only two pounds for four motors and the sensors, wires, etc... Do note that the biggest complaint about these cars is the weight - so BMW does need to do something to start trimming the fat.

so I tried it

It actually was almost impossible to get the soft close feature to work on my front doors. The rears were easier. Took a video - alas, even zipped it is too big to post!

I honestly don't know, there are no tracks close to me in L.A. to find out. The car is making right around 480whp and 530wtq. I can hang with an M6 on the freeway side by side from 70mph to 120mph and then he just starts slowly pulling ahead, by 135mph he was 1 full car ahead and still pulling. Up top those M6 turbos are insane!

Oh wait...
480whp and 530wtq means over 540 crank HP and 600 crank torque for a car with 446 HP and 511 lb-ft (stock) measured by Dinan
http://www.dinancars.com/product/d44...ries&mid=1179/
so basically your car has ~90 (over 20%) more power and torque than stock?
The stock M6 has even more power (618 hp measured by Dinan) and a little lighter than your tuned car which is the main factor (power to weight ratio) in rolling stuff...

Obviously the soft close for a 4 door GC will weigh more vs 2 for a coupe, but come on, on a approx 4400 car we are worried about 5 pounds? If your looking for a lightweight vehicle, the 6 series is not it. They better not trim this feature for miniscule weight savings- I love it. Don't understand how the soft close does not work? Push the door gently from the outside or pull gently from inside until it just latches and the motors take over securing it.

The JB4 is only for the 640 when it comes to the 6 series.

For the TTV8 motor he sells a tune for it, this is a dyno from a 2014 550 N63TU running the BMS tune..

no, no power close on the 6-series trunk. 5 series only.

That button locks the doors. I miss it on my M2.
