Can’t believe Hamilton and Kimi got the 1-2 despite their challenges at the start.

In lap 40 ,Ricciardo was in the slipstream behind Max . Ricciardo braked too late and his brakes locked up .
Of course , during the race there was also lack of team orders from Horner ...Later after the race Horner said , We have to make sure it doesn't happen again and he blames both !
From what I saw was...The whole race was actually a mess !

Epic Race...a real nail-biter. VES needs to be spoken with. He is 4-4 in incidents this season.

HAM and RAI were fortunate to take advantage of the VET braking debacle but out of all the incidents, my heart goes out to BOT...he should have won today.

Exciting race with the RB boys battling. I rather have a crash without injuries than a boring no challenge race. Regarding blame of the accident I think Max post race comment says it all... “I don’t think there is any reason to discuss who was at fault”. That’s as close to admitting guilt you’ll get from a driver. However it was close racing with split second decisions and these guys aren’t robots and there need to be a balance between exciting racing and the business of securing points if this is to remain a sport. Max didn’t brake check or deliberately crash into RIC, he was defending his position and made an unlawful move by instinct IMO.

Another good thing is that the commentators were not super annoying, screeching and manic this time. They were rather good

I know you’re Belgian so you cream your pants every time Max is on track, but he’s acting like a complete and total fucking idiot.

He made dumbass moves all day when DR obviously had the quicker car/was the better driver on the day. How he didn’t take them both out far earlier is a miracle.

Max did almost three blocking moves on DR before they crashed instead of the allowable single move, AND I swear it looked like he ‘brake checked’ DR as well.

If the telemetry showed he did brake check him the team should read him the riot act. But he’s the team owner’s little golden child, so nothing will happen.

I think we all knew that crash was coming after Vercrashin banged wheels with Ricciardo...Nice double move. I absolutely enjoyed the entertainment though!

Like I already said above , both of them should have received team orders from Horner earlier in the race .
For the moment there's a dog fight in F1 between Merc , Ferrari and Red Bull , because they are really close. This F1 season the suspense will be immense !
According Horner , Red Bull will get an engine upgrade in Spain ( Catalunya )
Of course , Max is Horner's golden child . Knowing that Max at 18 is the youngest race winner ever in the F1 history !
And Horner knows that Max (with the necessary RB-HP) will win more races for Red Bull....

Max now has another first. First driver to have two sophomore seasons in a row.

Max has no respect for anyone but himself. That needs to change.

Fantastic race!!!

RB should have given Max the orders to get the hell out of the way earlier, their race was nearly over when Max ran into Ricciardo the first time. Ultimate crashed looked like Ricciardo's fault to me but what do I know.

Kimi finally had some luck!!

You're all correct.
Max made a double, if not triple, move.
Ric was waaay to optimistic, especially given who he was trying to pass.
Horner should have called team orders many, many, laps prior.
As soon as Ric jumped on the gas and started to close, I knew how it was going to end.
Matter of fact, you could predict how it was going to end before the lights went out.

I really feel bad for Bottas. He got the worst of all the meshugas.

Speaking as a Red Bull / Daniel Ricciardo fan I would agree that it is not 100% either way with the accident. Max did move twice and Daniel came in far too hot… So they are both at fault.

What I would point out though is that there are parallels between Verstappen and Senna. It is often said that Senna made his opponents make the decision about whether to risk an accident when going for an overtake and that is what Verstappen seems to do. I like Verstappen’s aggression, take Bottas as a counter example – he is far too submissive in his driving and, as a result, is unlikely to be a world champion.

Max is clearly going through a learning process, he needs to sort out his finer judgement calls, modify his aggression a little bit, and then I think he will be unbeatable.

With that Senna comparison, Ricciardo had to take the risk or else Max will continue to hold the higher ground knowing Ricciardo will back off. Whether it’s Ricciardo’s fault or not, he had to go for it to let Max know he isn’t gonna get walked all over on. Worth the risk imo.
