BMW F12 M6 Convertible FEP. Most Revealing Look To Date
BIMMERPOST NEWS BMW F12 M6 Convertible FEP. Most Revealing Look To Date The 2012 BMW F12 M6 Convertible has lost most of its camouflage, so we're happy to share the best shots to date. The F12 M6 has entered FEP or final evaulation phase, and this allows us a look at most of the signature M design and technology cues, including front bumpers, rear bumpers, and side skirts. We think the M6 looks wider than the regular 6-series, and this makes sense to accomodate the fatter rear tires. Despite some light disguise you can already see the sportier bumpers and huge air intakes needed to feed the 4.4-litre Twin-Power V8 engine internally dubbed S63 - we expect an output of roughly 580hp. This prototype appears to still have some camouflage tape over the rear bumpers, but these shots reveal a rear diffusor similar to the F10 M5. Compared ot the regular F12, the reflectors move up and make for a sportier, almost mean, look. Also shared with the M5 are the unique M side mirrors which are usually doing a way better job in terms of looks despite fulfilling all legal requirements. Missing however are M-specific side gills which will be found on the final car however. The F12 M6 sports huge drilled brake discs, finally coupled with 6-pot fixed piston calipers. The 19-inch double spoke M wheels are unique to the M6. If that's not shiny enough for you, there'll also be optional 20-inch wheels. The M6 will most probably sport Michelin's latest sports tires called Michelin Supersport. There's no final word on debut and availability of the BMW F12 M6 but we expect BMW to officially unveil the M6 in early 2012 with a market launch later in 2012. The reflectors on the back are pretty ugly IMO.
I know it's hard to tell at this point, but it doesn't seem aggressive enough. |

Agreed, but I think the front and the rear will be completely different.

I like how it looks wider than the current model. Not really sold on the reflectors on the rear.
Headlights do not seem to flow with the rest of the design. But it's early until I see the finished product.

So far (for the FXX models), it seems like the the base variant look better than their M counterparts - the F10 5er looks better than the M5 and even though there is still camo, the F10 6er coupe looks better than the M6.

Reflectors

The raised reflectors IMO give the M6 a more aggressive appearance than the 650i. The reflectors and the wider rear will make the M6 distinguishable. Dare I say (so far): M6>M5 in regards to camo'd appearance |

Looking at this car, one thing popped into my mind, BMW should start selling their own 'Black Series' cars. Not like MB black series (thats what GTS/CSL is for), but maybee more like the Cayman black series. Just take the M3/M5/M6, throw on some beautiful powdercoated wheels, black calipers, black logos, black paint, black exhausts, black grills, etc.. and sell it like that. Could be an interesting special edition

funny...because I don't like the raised reflectors on the F10 M5 that we've been seeing on both the test cars and the actual concept car..however, I do think it works on the M6 somehow, I think it makes it look more aggresive!!
