So who is on Windows 10?

Force downloaded it yesterday to my Dell tablet overwriting Windows 8.1
Its definitely seems like a big improvement over crappy 8.1
Time will tell but it might actually be a winner.

I'm thinking I might keep my desktop on 7 for a while longer as well.
Getting Cortana to work was a bit of a ball ache and she seems to take some pleasure in deliberately misunderstanding everything thing I say...typical woman!

I have a gameing pc and setup windows 7 to function exactly how I need it to function so no thanks on windows 10. Don't feel like becoming an MS beta tester.

I been around since the days of MS-DOS. I always wait for MS to workout the bugs from their OS before I go jumping into something that could possibly be a cluster fuck. Win7 works perfectly fine for me so why upgrade. WinME and Vista where just total cluster fucks, so yeah I'll wait till I fully know that Win10 is fully stable.

I upgraded the surface pro 3 yesterday, and after upgrade it wouldn't detect any of my network adapters. Instead of me getting drivers from another computer I just downgraded back, and will wait for now. This is my work computer, I just don't want to mess with it right now.

Windows 10? No way.

I have removed the Windows 10 GWX upgrade (KB3035583) out of my computer as it looks and works like a malicious software: http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/w...to-remove.html

My opinion, Microsoft is seriously sick with mobile-mania and touchscreen-mania. But hey, my desktop monitor is 27" no touchscreen and I never want it to be, same as my laptop. Why do I need this interface?

Win 10 is booting the fastest, hands down. Is it critical for me? no, it isn't. The main concern is usability of both Windows 8 and Windows 10 - not for me, neither the depressive and glaring color palette.

I have iPad and iPhone touchscreen with perfect design and usability. Will keep Windows 7 as long as I can, but if one day it will be no longer live, then just go Mac OS.

However this is good that some people can get adopted to it and benefit.
Wish everybody to find the best and optimal way of moving forward.

Well so far so good with Win 10 on my tablet.
I would recommend it for anyone with a Win 8 tablet with nothing critical on it....It is a big improvement once you get past the usual pain of trying to find where everything is.

Upgraded to Win 10 Pro on my Surface Pro 3. Didn't bother to backup at all and it worked! Win 10 feels rather polished for a release when compared with all the previous updates or upgrades. The Start Menu is finally back. I'm trying to see if I can fall in love with Microsoft Edge since I've used Chrome for a while.

I almost abandoned Chrome on my SP3 due to lack of decent gesture based navigation, which the talbet mode of IE had. The Edge browser doesn't have that feature wither, which is a major bummer for me.

The rest of the OS seems okay, though I'm having some pretty buggy experiences navigating settings menus that either appear like they are not opening (but really do open in the background), actually never opening, or another unrelated menu opens.

I too will stick with 7, my desktop and laptop don't have touchscreens and as a "tool" I think 7 is not only sufficient but possibly better. 8's initial issues, plus admittedly my reluctance to relearn where things are, turned me off of it altogether. I'm sure I'll try 10 at some point on my laptop but for now I have more interesting ways to kill my free time. If I do get a touchscreen laptop or tablet at some point I"m sure I'll go for 10 (or 11 or whatever) all in. Until then no thanks.

On the plus side for Win 10 I got miracast to work perfectly.
On my Dell tablet on Win 8.1 it was laggy and dropping loads of frames using a netgear Push2TV, essentially unwatchable...now with Win 10 I get near zero lag and no dropped frames - makes the trouble of installing it worth it to me just for that.

And improvement from 8.1 isn't an amazing feat. How does it compare to win 7 ultimate for example?

I couldn't say, my desktop is on Win 7 and I'm really happy with it and I doubt I'll update it at least for a while...but its impossible to compare it to my tablet.

I would suggest if you have something running Win 8/8.1 then a change to 10 is well worthwhile.

Just downloaded windows 10 ISO. Planning to install this weekend. The scheduled upgrade process looks like I'd have to wait a while so I'm just going to jump the line.

I have a desktop and tablet to update - both are running Windows 8.1. I'll see how it works on both. I really hope they improve the desktop experience on tablet.

I now have my sister's laptop, it had a preloaded Win 8 that worked. It's now got 10 on it and it's misbehaving - the start button does nothing wit a left click, IE won't come up at all no matter how many times you click it, search function doesn't work, that's just for starters. It was their update and it's got all available additional updates. Not off to a good start, I'll get it back to it's original Win 8 baseline and may give it another go. May not.

I did a fresh install of Win 8.1 (which was a bit of a pain having to do all the updates again) before the update to Win 10 and no real problems so far.
The more I use it the better I like it...I might not wait that long before updating my desktop.

Garage List
Win 8 was a piece of garbage! Had a ThinkPad "twist" with 8 on there and I wanted to chuck that thing in a dumpster.

Is there any reason/advantage to go to 10 if you don't have a touchscreen device/machine? Also...will it require more memory to run properly?

I have a personal ThinkPad a few years old with 8gb ram running 7 flawlessly. Work machine is a T420 ThinkPad with 4gb ram (might have 8 can't remember).

Tempted but don't know why the upside is and also don't want my machines slogging and underpowered for the OS.
