I wasn't under the impression the steering ratio changed on Comfort vs. Sport or Sport Plus. I have not checked documentation but between switching through the various modes the ratio didn't change from me turning the wheel on a 45 degree turn.

The ratio doesn't change between settings, the difference is between cars with the CP and without it. What I told Mr Karim is that in comfort on the cars without CP the steering feels about as light as it does on any setting on cars with CP but the ratio is still not as quick as in cars with CP.

Ahhh ok... Yeah I read into that wrong. I really wish we could get a quicker ratio option on the non-CP cars. The whole "sport and sport plus" steering mode in the non-CP cars is a joke. It just ratchets down the weight of the wheel and makes it difficult to drive -- pointless.

I say get a non cp car, put the steering wheel on Sport+, and you'll beat anyone in armwrestling after a while

Suggestion

You have in mind to do personalization improvements to your car so IMO get the non CP, otherwise you are going to spend money twice.

The steering is the biggest difference that can't be modified. It was the biggest complaint from F10 M5 owners (many of whom are still upset that this bug was fixed as a costly upgrade package, now called the CP. Many feel the additional upgrades were done to hide the main reason for the steering issue on non-CP models). If you can afford a car like this, I think it's a worthwhile upgrade, especially with all the other mods you're planning on doing. My 2 cents...

Actually Sport is not that bad and I have more fun than comfort, but Sport+ as you said make it difficult to drive. it's so heavy with no benefit!

Sport plus made perfect since when I drove an M6 in Germany on the autobahn at 160mph . At those speeds minuscule steering inputs send you into another lane , and the heavy weighting all of a sudden makes perfect sense. In an interview one of the engineers said as much . The M6 was made for the those speeds , rock steady at 270km/hr for 4 hours , one of the best experiences of my life.

I had to add the suspension mods myself since comp pack was not available. I don't have the steering software but all the mechanical parts. I love the handling but the ride is noticeably worse on a daily basis. If this car is your daily driver I would pass unless you have great roads. Just my 2cents
