640i Gran Coupe Lease Price
I recently leased a 2014 435i M-sport and did a fair amount of research before signing because there is a lot of information online regarding pricing. However, I haven't been able to find much information from the 6-series community.
My girlfriend is looking to lease a 640i Gran Coupe. Below is the data that I know so far as acquired from a local dealership. MSRP: $87,550 Invoice: $81,422 Money Factor: .0013 (MF changes to .00081 after 7 MSD) Residual: 56% Discount: $1000 (unf4gettable test drive) If you think you got a really good deal on your lease, can you please chime in with their lease pricing info please? Your help is appreciated and I'm sure others will also be able to benefit from this. |

Thats a pretty good deal, but is it Xdrive and is it a 14 or 15? |

I currently lease a 2014 650i GC xdrive at $1380 per month with taxes rolled in. MSRP was $107,455.
I will lease swap out at cost with no down payment, which might save you some coin in the long run if you want to get into that instead, even if you get an ideal $1100 range. PM me if you're interested in more details. 9200 miles.

I also have 18 inch winter wheels and tires with about 1500 miles on them. You can have them at no charge if you take the car and I don't even have to put it on swapalease.

Hey guys sorry to bring this up but for a 640 and that kind of payment, wouldn't a m6 be around there for another $100 on top of that payment. I know every person has different taste but just throwing my 2 cent

Any time I hear someone talk multiple MSDs I get scared. They are such a bad bad idea unless you are absolutely positively sure that you will NEVER want to get out of the lease. I hate to use this guy as an example, but he is stuck in his X6
http://www.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=997462 Now as for your lease price... leasing is different in every state. Some charge tax on the entire purchase price (IL and TX and one other I believe), some have taxes on just the payment, and some do both! (hint, Chicago). So comparing prices is just crazy. Here is what I recommend. 1. Figure out what the cars are selling for. If you are looking at a 2014, I would guess invoice would be a good start. Now take your $1K off. For a 2015 - well maybe somewhere between $1,000 and $2,500 above sticker? 2. Add in the lease inception fees and any other fees your dealer will be charging including doc fees and plates 3. Figure out how taxes are done 4. Figure out your MF (either you are doing multiple MSDs and/or your dealer is marking it up) - both are critical to know. 5. Go here to get your payment http://www.bankrate.com/calculators/...alculator.aspx Last but not least -don't listen to people who tell you that you can get a M6GC for only $100 more (sorry ///SAL) - the lease prices are what they are. A M6GC will sticker approximately $30-40K more and as such have a much higher payment. Now you can of course point out that a 2015 640 at sticker (especially two months ago when the residuals were terrible on the 2015s) would lease out closer to a 2014 M6GC that a dealer was desperate to get rid of and willing to take a loss (or a 2014 M6 when they were offering $7,500 off on them earlier this year). Those are exceptions - but apples to apples, you won't be able to lease a car that much more expensive for only $100.

http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1017911 It's even harder for them (as you said they are desperate) to sell a $110k+ M6 and for this reason there are always many good deals around with 20-30K off MSRP specially in summer and fall time since the next model is around and as ///SAL said you can get M6 with $100 more , but not everybody wants to drive M6 ... Just keep in mind your payment on a 140k car with 20k off MSRP (120K sales price) is less than your payment on a 110K car if you get the sticker price (and similar MF and Residual) Anyways, you can see the link below to see 20K off for 2 M6 available now: http://www.crevierbmw.com/inventory....true&_model=m6

BMW lease prices are crazy. Looking at getting a E63 S for a family member, car with an MSRP of $113K with a $6K discount is $1700 a month! You can get an M6 GC for way less.
Got a quote for an RS7 lease, $3000 down and $2500 a month! |

It depends on how much effort you put into researching pricing.
I was getting quotes of $840-$925/mo with MSDs and $0 cap reduction. This was for a '14 640i GC RWD, MSRP $87k and a 15k/36 mo lease. The deals are out there, you just have to spend a little time contacting dealers.

Now the 6-series is one of the slower selling cars (slower selling as they don't make that many and therefore don't sell that many) - it is a bit of a niche car and will never sell like the 5 series and/or 3 series. (I love C&D's review saying "We wonder how many people sit in a 5-series and say "I like it, but do you have something that is smaller on the inside, larger on the outside and costs more?"") But a $125-$140K car on the lot costs money to have on the lot. Especially when newer models are out. So you will see some deals. Case in point was the two months this year where you could get $7,500 off a 6-series (as long as it wasn't a GC!). In addition, behind the scenes BMW corporate will make deals with the dealer. For mine, they titled it as a demo 15 days before I bought it - that got them another $2K off the price (BMW wanted the car shown as SOLD for the month and this is a tricky way to do it). There are all sorts of other secret dollars that go back and forth. So where am I going with this? Here (and Sal this should make you feel a little better): Leasing a car is basically paying the depreciation (at about 3% interest) off as well as borrowing the residual (at about 3% interest*) which you will never pay off. The depreciation is calculated at the purchase price minus the residual. The residual is calculated as a percentage of the MSRP (sans delivery) So... The advantage of a $130K car that is written down to $110K is that the residual is still based on the $130K. So a 54% residual of $130K is $70K and that means you are borrowing $70K with no intent to pay back and only really financing $40K ($110-$70K). Granted lots of other factors at play here. Now take a $80K 640 - that residual is $43K - so you are only paying interest on that. The extra residual for the M6 will cost you about $67.50 a month*. The remaining amount ($80-43 = 37K) is financed at the 3%. The good news (SAL) is that the M6 is financed at $40K as well (you are financing $40K vs. $37K so about $1,000 more per year) ! So your M6 could in theory cost you only $150 or so more per month. Keep in mind there are so many factors that can change this -for instance sales tax here in and TX would be on $110K (approx $8K here in IL) vs. the $5,800 on the 640. This alone would raise your monthly by $65. But my point is....and I stand by it... The numbers are the numbers. We are talking a $110K car with a sticker of $130K that makes this scenario work. If this was a $110K car with a sticker of $110K everything changes. So you need to find someone desperate to get rid of their car - you need to make sure it is still a leasable year as BMW will not lease you a 2013 sitting on the lot and there are other numbers/factors at play here (early 2015 6-series cars had 50% ish residual vs. 56ish% residual on the 2014s - right there you can change the whole game). *My final point is regarding MSDs. I'm going to come right out and say it. THEY ARE STUPID. Yea, you are lowering your interest rate and you better be damn sure you are going to be in a position to lease that car for the full duration. Cause getting someone to fork over those MSDs to you midlease is a real bitch. So for the love of God, let's stop seeing how cheap we can get a car with MSDs - it is a bad bad option for most people and we are therefore no longer comparing apples to apples.

5000 Cap Cost and my lease is $680.89. People here seem to be getting rape with lease quote. It took research, persistence, time and a $4,000 CREDIT postcard BMW sent to my mailbox. But when i was searching last year several dealers was quoting me 1300+ a month. |

My strategy to leasing is forget all those damn maths and lease calculators online. And be arrogant and tell them what you want to pay for a lease $$$ and be firm about it. If they say "NO" tell them if anything changes you are a call away.
This has always worked for me!! Do not visit dealers just call in all the dealers in 200 miles radius using Cars.com. I got my 2014 GC from a dealer located 100+ miles away. I'm not loyal to any dealer. Whoever was the dealer i leased before is my starting ground to find out how the rates is for the NEW car i want. Tools i have used to getting lease: - Cars.com for NEW CARS. - AmericanExpress cars Program - Promotional Post Cards - And monthly Promotion |
