Spacers or bigger wheels

My car looks under-wheeled, and I am not sure if this is because of the size of the stock 19" wheels, or just a poor offset making them sit inside the fenders.

Would spacers help, or should I go 20"? Should I even bother trying the spacers?

You need wider rim/tire with correct offset.
373 rims setup help a lot... they are wider and 20" ; however if you like 343M M5 rims, their setup completely look different.
Many people have done this change and seem happy...

So you're saying I shouldn't even bother with the spacers?

Well that's the cheapest way you can go and I don't bother to try it to see if it works... Spacers will change the overall length of track with no inside support, so you may experience less agile characteristic on turns since it's like you are decreasing the offset.

Yeah, agree with the others on here. Anything less than the 20" 373M's on this car isn't a great look, imo.

And even those sit way inside the fenders. I would go with the 343's off the M5 or even after-market one's. I've got 373's that I intend to sell but have to find a custom set first.

Yours looks flush.. I'm going 255s on the front - think yours are 245?

Thanks! I went 245/285 because it was recommended and looks symmetric. 255/295 would be recommended but you want want to confirm with a tire guy. I think the 255/285 might look odd, as the 255 would give a "thicker/taller" look up front

I thought the 245 vs 255 tyres was to do with width and not height? How would a 255 look taller over the 245 if its width related?

Hi,
I have seen one of your old posts. What did you mean by " I went 245/285 because it was recommended". BMW recommends 245/275. On the other hand every caltulator on the web says 245/285 is the perfect match.
Did You have any problems with xdrive and drivetrain on 245/285? I just bought 343M5 wheels and dont know whether I should go for 245/275 or 245/285 setup.
Please help/

For xdrive, you want the OD of your wheel+tire to be closer to 1% between front vs rear (RWD should be within 3%). So basically, 245/35+285/30 or 255/35+295/30 would be your best choice. Math:

Front: 245 * 35 = 85.75mm > convert to in = 3.38"
Tot OD front = 3.38 * 2 + 20(size of wheel) = 26.76"
Rear: 285 * 30 = 85.5mm = 3.37"
Tot OD rear = 6.74 * 2 + 20 = 26.74"

He's asked the same question and gotten the same responses in multiple threads now.
