Exhaust Popping Sound

Hi Guys,

when i rev the engine at idle (not revving more than 3.5k - 4k RPM) i hear popping sound out of the exhausts (1 or 2 pops when i let go of throttle, a bit loud sometimes). It sounds nice

but I'm just wondering what is causing this and if it's something that needs to be looked at for a possible underlying issue.

Has anyone noticed this with his 650i? Is it common?

Note: it's the standard non-MSport exhausts, engine is N63tu, car model 2014.

@650i2014 , that is normal.
That is a backpressure popping sound.

Ain't it lovely? Wish mine did it more...wish the stock exhaust provided more sound.

You should hear it with no mufflers! I get a shotgun blast on down revving once in a while, people think there's a Hemi in my 6! Haha

All together now with M Sport exhaust, carbon filters removed, BMS Stage 1, 96 Octane, Sport+.
