F 12 Springs Vs. Coilovers

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hi Guys, I know this has been discussed in the past but the threads I found didn't really go into much detail. Obviously coil overs will perform better than replacing springs but if I'm not tracking it, is it enough improvement to justify spending about $4k for some K&Ws when they come out instead of less than $1k for springs? Ive noticed a number of you with some very impressive upgrades already have the springs, but is it cause they coil overs weren't out yet or cause you don't think you need them? Thanks!!

If you're not going to be tracking the car a lot then coilovers won't make much of a difference. Springs will add some firmness and a nice drop which is what most are looking for. Another added benefit to coilovers is that you can adjust the height. Springs will allow you to retain the stock damper control so you can adjust your ride comfort.

By firmness do you mean it will handle/corner better? Are you going to swap out to coil overs at some point or are you content with the springs?

Yes it will handle and corner better especially with the lower center of gravity. I am waiting for Eibach, Dinan or ACS springs.
