do you mean this?
http://www.bimmer-tech.net/shop/bmw-...panel-retrofit if you do, it apparently requires coding which can be done remotely |

As you can see, it can be done, but I had the 'analog' display on my 2014 650 and have the 'digital' display on my 2015 650 and unless you have about $4000 for the total package (parts, installation, coding, etc...) it's not worth it.
Put the extra money to something else and you'll be much, much happier. Not to say that I don't like the digital dash, it's nice, but I don't know if it's worth the cost to update it. Similarly how some folks have talked about updating HID's to LED's. It can be done but is expensive. With that said, given the choice, I'd do the HID to LED conversion first. LED's are awesome!

If I could switch with you I would - I love the old gauges!

Not sure if the cost is justified but to me the digital instrument is something I can't drive without and I would be willing to trade in any other option in the car (except for the surround view) to get it.
Switching from one driving mode to another (i.e. comfort to sport) gives you a visual experience complementing the performance of the car which you can't get with the old gauges. It's what all car gauges should be (and will be). I'm sure the car industry will not be looking back. Here are a few shots from my car: |

Gimmicky and they serve no purpose except - well to make it gimmicky. I do however agree - they will be on all BMWs in the future.
