2015 650i Gran Coupe Oil Tires

Im going to get new tires for my car. What are some recommendations? They are 275s and are the 20 inch rim ones.

All 4 tires are 275? Most 20” 6 series wheels are staggered where the fronts are 8.5” wide w/33mm offset/rears are 9” wide w/44mm offset…and the fronts tires are 245/rears are 275. The square 20” setups are usually 245 tires on all 4 corners & the wheels are the 8”.5 width wheels w/33mm offset. Did you or a previous owner change the 20” wheel setup?

Before buying tires…make sure you accurately know what your wheel’s specs are as well as the tire’s specs are, too that are mounted to the wheels.

If you don’t have much knowledge about the type of tires you want..I highly recommend browsing the www.TireRack.com website. They offer lots of info about the tire sizes for your car, and information, tests, surveys, comparisons, etc of many tire brands. They also have a tire decision buying guide that can help select tires that fit your personal criteria.

You don't have to necessarily purchase from them…you can use their site for knowledge alone…then order from a local tire store. Tire purchase is very personal. A person that lives in another part of the country from you may have a totally different tire that fits their driving style and location.

My only piece of advice (if you havent' decided yet) is not get run flats. They were on the car when I got mine and I replaced them with another set of run flats. Big mistake and stupid costly.

I also have a winter rim/tire setup and much prefer the ride of the car when those are on.

You first need to decide whether you want "summer" performance tires or all season tires. I'm not familiar enough with Charlotte's winters to know if summer tires year-round would be ok there.

I have these on my 640i. Very good tires, smooth ride with good tread wear.
275/40-20 rear
245/40-20 front

I replaced the OEM run flats on my 2015 640i with Continentals Contact Sports. I ran Contis on my Audi S5. Always had good luck with Contis

A little off topic, but I am running 245/40 fronts and 285/35 rears on stock MSport 20s, still within 1% by my calculation, but is my math wrong? I just liked the little beefier rears and I got an amazing deal on some Pirellis

Thanks for all the replys guys. I think the previous owners staggered and got the 20 inch rims. Fronts are 245 20s and backs are 275 20s. I was told that I would need all season tires. I will prob go with contis or pirellis or michillen after reading these. thank you all

I prefer Michelins, but the Continentals I've had previously seemed very good too. For some reason I feel the Michelins seem better. Maybe it's marketing or common perception.
