Mixing Runflats With non Runflats
Im reading mixed review on the do's & dont's. After speaking to someone today he said aslong as you dont mix on the same axle its fine.
Ive got 6 month old bridgestone potenza RF fronts I need two rears which im thinking of going for a non RF Last thing i want is the car to be all over the place, but for the sake of another £200 for stiff Rfs id rather go non RF at the back and when the fronts run for out give them non RF also Last edited by M6Havana; 12-14-2015 at 01:25 AM.. |

Never do this it will be very unsafe in wet.
you can mix different tyres as long as the front 2 tyres are same brand and model and same for the rears.

I don't think it will be a problem whatsoever. Non RF on the back axle, RF on the front - as long both fronts are same brand and likewise at the back, it's fine.

Non RF are soft tyres and RF are very hard tyres so the balance will not be good for cornering.

agree it is softer than my old E60 and F10 RF tyres but RF are the worst tyres to drive and not much grip on wet roads in Hong Kong so mixing these type of tyres is no no for me. very unsafe on high speed.

There is a good market for used RF tires. You may be surprised to find how much you can get for them if they are only few months old. People returning cars from lease love them.
AS far as mixing tires it comes down to what you will do with the car. If you enjoy taking the car to the limit every now and then or if you enjoy an occasional bonzai run don't do it. If you just cruise in your car and have better things to do then save your time and money and just throw some Hankooks (or whatever you prefer) out back. My $0.02 anyway |

I don't know why this is still being debated, it's not like this is a Kia forum, we have expensive luxury cars here. Spend the money and buy decent tires by the four, enjoy your ride. Plus it just looks cheap to have different tires around the car. I'm done. :-)
