Has anyone figured out dashboard coding?

I am wondering if there are any articles on coding the dash/ instrument cluster on the non-m 6 series (I have a 2017 640) to look different such as the m6 or different bmw models using ista or other coding programs. I was able to change everything on the idrive and install CarPlay but I am wondering if there is anything available for the dash? Thanks everyone!

I depends on which of the 3 instrument clusters you have. The F chassis six series can have the…and we have no clue which one you have:
  • Basic analog cluster (no amount of coding will change anything since there’s only one small section that is digital.
  • The 6WA cluster which has a larger digital display with analog needles…
  • The 6WB cluster which is all digital and has 3 different screens depending on if you are in
    • Eco Pro mode
    • Comfort Mode
    • Sport Mode

The BASIC cluster has 4 anodized rings and the needles + all the info in the gauges can still be seen when the engine is turned off. The digital part of the cluster is a small rectangular section on the bottom right. (See the 1st two pics below)

The 6WA cluster has 4 anodized rings and analog needles…but the info in the gauges is digital and only the rings and needles are visible when the engine is turned off. The digital display goes across the entire lower part of the cluster…and even fills in the 4 rings at the bottom with digital info. (See the 3rd/4th/5th pics below)

The 6WB cluster is totally blank when the engine is turned off. All the gauges and other info is all digital. Plus the look of the display changes when you select Eco-Pro/Comfort/Sport modes. (See the 6th & 7th pics below)

Thank you for your response!
I have the 6WB cluster and yes I have the eco pro comfort and sport mode options. I was wondering if there’s coding I can do to edit those screens to maybe the black m6 cluster?

And if you go to one of the websites that sell coding apps (like Bimmercode)…you can see what coding parameters they have for the F chassis six series…and which cluster is required to perform the coding. You can see that the F06/F12/F13 can add the two coding parameters below if you have the correct instrument cluster:

No.

I believe the M5/M6 cluster is a take-off of the 6WA cluster. BMW added red needles and some other M stuff.

Yea the m logos I’ve seen on bimmercode but it doesn’t work for some reason but I see how the m6 dash is a little different. I’d rather have that than the nasty orange one maybe it’s possible through ista?
