Tow hook cover stolen...

I am so mad. Just realized that someone has taken my row hook cover from the rear bumper. I am assuming dealer will be the only way to find a matching replacement?

for some reason it seems like a common thing for people to steal the tow hook covers. happened to a couple of my friends and even happened to me with the service loaner i had. i would think the people stealing it, is another bmw owner that had theirs stolen and are too cheap to just buy another one. on my last car (audi) someone stole the cover also, for the audi i had to buy from the dealer and have the bodyshop paint it as they didnt offer color matched covers from the factory. on a mercedes that i also had before that got stolen. mercedes sold them already painted so it was less of a hassle. you would think if you can afford a bmw, audi, benz, etc. you wouldnt need to go around to steal a $50-100 cover.

I got an unpainted cover from the dealer. I also purchased a spray touch up can of BMW 475 paint. I also have a rear spoiler that needs painting- Saphire Black Metallic. Will keep you updated

Was driving today, a truck infront of me ran over a shredded tire which flew up and hit my front bumper causing the tow hook to pop off. Now I am in need of a new tow hook cover lol. Luckily no damage to my front bumper but I was hoping so, so I could have a reason to buy a M-sport bumper lol.

I don't think someone stole it, its common on the 6 for the cover to sometimes to just come off.

I think that's probably true. The other day I was getting something out of the trunk and I bumped the cover and it fell out on the ground.

Same thing happened to me thought it was stolen and found in driveway after snow melted. Get a few unpainted 12 or so bucks.. Invest in matching spray paint (automotive touchup.com) matches perfectly
