My favorite part is how this same car was just a plain old yellow 650i just over a month ago.... and now it has grown up into a full fledged M6!

http://www.6post.com/forums/showthre...hlight=atacama

Wow, that is amazing!

( sarcasm over )

Edit: Saw that OP already mentioned this but pictures of the evolution are still priceless!

To me the wheels ruin it. With the black wheels (and of course without the fake badge) I don't hate it (might not have chosen the taxi color in NYC, but never the less)

I didn't know they made an xDrive M6?!?!? lol.

The previous pics of this car (before the M6 badging) clearly shows the xDrive badge on the front fenders, and it looks like they are still present after the badging.

So an M6 badge and some yellow rims deserved all that fuss?

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

That's funny about the fuss. Even my wife now calls me if she's driving and sees (for example) an F30 3 series with M3 badges One the other day had the red/white/blue lines sprayed accross the bumper, clearly not professionally... I wish she got a pic of that one so I could have posted it on Bimmerpost

I think badging one's car to look like something it's not is ridiculous. As many threads on this topic have stated, the people you're trying to fool don't know the difference anyway, and the people that do know the difference won't be fooled. So it's silly all around.

Richest state in the nation (if I remember correctly), and this thing calls it home? Sad.

I am happy to report that after years of training, the process has been successful. What's even better is every time we drive by an R8 or a Ferrari California, we both start having those quasi-serious conversations like "do we really need TWO family cars?" and "if we don't feed the kids for a while, we can get that Ferrari! It would be so worth it". ( We would never do that, of course. I mean kids have to eat if they are going to eventually be useful doing manual labor, I mean chores, around the house! )

Oh and she can even discern the schmucks who put AMG badges on their CLS550!

Impressive. My wife isn't quite that well trained - opps, I mean attentive to cars, but she suprises me every now and again. One thing's for certain, she loves the 650i, but was never that keen on the M3. Understandable given her perspective is from the passenger's seat.

About these re-badging aholes - I once had the M5 badge stolen off the boot lid of my E39. The thief scratched my paint in the process. I was seriously pissed off. My M3 made it through 3 years of ownership unscathed.
