Picked up a M6 w Comp package

First BMW car, i've owned 2 S1000RR's, now I'm on a M kick! Loving the car, its such a balance of comfort and power/performance!

Just got it paint corrected, and sea quartz'd.

Now, the mod bug has already bitten. I'm researching catless down pipes, and probably will keep the stock exhaust system. Any recommendations for catless dp. And 2 questions, does it throw a error code with catless and how loud does the car get? I'm not looking for something crazy loud..

Also thinking about a tune, Dinan is local to me, but haven't really found favorable user reviews for it.> Anyone recommend a good ECU tuner in/around California?

Thanks for all the feedback!

Welcome sir! Pics would be nice.

With downpipes installed, you will eventually get a CEL light. But it will be taken care of with an ECU flash tune. Several tuners are in Cali that can do the ECU tune, stage I or stage II.

Downpipes will make the car a little louder and you will hear turbo spooling much more especially when you get on it.

getting ready to install a set of RK autowerks catless downpipes on mine tommorow. the quality and finish on them is great and they are on a holiday sale right now for $1000.00. Can report back on fitment tommorow. They will throw a cel unless your car is tuned. I opted just to get a jb4 set up for mine and i did the berger intakes and charge pipes aswell. Mine is also a comp package aswell so i can shoot you a clip of the exhaust with the downpipes on it

BPM and Mission Performance are both in CA and highly recommended by members here.

Downpipes: you will get a CEL. I do recommend this as your first choice before changing the exhaust as you will gain power as well as increase the competition exhaust tone and turbo spool. Usually guys start exhaust first and then add downpipes not realizing how drastic it is and end up with very loud cars. Make sure you have the tuner turn off the cold start.

As for downpipes, too many on the market, if I was modding all over again, I'd pick up a Fabworx or Undercover Performance set. Both great and priced reasonably. You might want to check with MSR Performance, I believe @m6beast may have started selling downpipes too.

As for RK, it's been a mix bag, some have had no fitment issues while others have had a ton of issues. I won't get into that debate, let's see how the install goes mentioned above. Hopefully they've corrected the issues as the price is right.

You have the option to remove the top speed limiter with most flash tunes. You will want to verify with whoever you choose to go with. BPM does give you that option for sure.

Thats insane, has anyone tried topping out their M6's with the top speed limiter removed?

I'll be contacting BPM once i ship the car back to California. having said that, recommend any good covered shipping providers for luxury cars? Thanks again fellas!

Car looks sick

For paint correction(getting rid of swirls) and the sea quartz, which enhanced the clearcoat shine + provides protection, and some interior detailing, the total was 1350USD. Well worth it to make the car look like new!

Nice man, thanks for reporting back with your feedback! Is there a pretty gas bad smell with the lack of cats? How did you find that?

Do all catless installs require 02 sensor socket?

I would also go with Fabworx and @BPMSport for mods and tune

For any engine (all) and drivetrain (most) mod related questions I would search extensively over at the F10M5 board.

There is no comparison between traffic here and there.

Thanks guys. First set of mods; bmc air filter and Castrol SRF brake fluids. Then once I get the car back in California, exhaust and tune! Can't wait! What an amazing daily driver!
