The death of Alpina?

I keep seeing all these new alpina cars and renderings and I really cannot see how they are going to survive as a company now that bmw has gone FI. The entire great and special thing about alpina was you could get gobs of power and torque in a FI engine that was not available from the dealer. Now you can get a torque/power monster turbo engine from the dealer stock. I know they add hp but so does every tuner out there.

Don't get me wrong the color, wheels and interior is surely beautiful but not for the prices they currently command.

I would be surprised is alpina continued to thrive like it does in today's world

never was a fan of them. Parts ok and so so look. Very European looking mods. Just like ACS stuff, i dont really care for it.

hmmm, never thought about how ///m going fi will affect alpina. then again, i never really cared for them.



it will be interesting to see how this unfolds.

Alpina has found its niche in by being just as powerful as the M-models, but refined and tuned to both sportiness as well as comfort. Not as uncompromising as the M's. Alpina also have a more classy interior.

Not necessarily a better car, but more style, more class, more exclusivity.

And more money.
