Another "what to buy" thread...
I made this post on the "other" 6er forum and would appreciate the input of those on this forum that don't "cross over." I thought posting a link would be easier then pasting and reformatting the entire post. I appreciate all input and apologize if this method of posting is inappropriate. Thanks.

Dude, you've done your research. My brother has the 2014 AMG and its a pretty solid ride. Initially liked but once inside I felt like I was in the 1980's with all the buttons. The 6's just felt classy. Buying a used M I'd be sure if it was personally owned or leased. Most leased are driven like they were stolen. I like new because then I know how the vehicle is treated from day 1.

Well I will be happy to have some valid points to help you before I simply say: " get M6 coupe" LOL
I think most likely you are looking for Coupe since most of the cars in your list are coupe. As far as AWD vs RWD, it’s completely different story and you are the one who has to define which one has higher priority, but overall: 1.650Xdrive Coupe: I used to have two 650i Coupe, 2012 (N63) and 2013 (N63tu + M Sport package). Clearly there was a big difference between them and the second one was more powerful, faster and more fun to drive; but comparing to M6? Oh man trust me…night and day! 2. Keep your car: well it depends on how much you are connected to this car, but how come you want to keep the car when the new one with more option/feature/power is available? I don’t know about your current payment, but for sure you can find a brand new car with more options while the same payment you have unless you had got a perfect deal back in 2011/2012. 3. 2015 M5: It's a great car if you need a sedan. 4. CPO M6 Coupe: M6 has a crazy depreciation so buying a CPO as long as there is no major issue with car is a smart shopping, but you will probably join the club of “drinking oil” and “squealing brakes”… oh wait there is a new service for brakes that should solve this issue…amazing DCT and amazing LSD with lots of torque and power I bet you will fall in love with this car if you enjoy more power 5. CPO MB SL: Even with SL which is supposed to be sport car, I felt old when I sat behind the wheel...plus as you said not as pretty as 6 series. Also it’s a two seat car; so basically it’s not practical unless you have second or third car for other occasions… 6. 2016 AMG C63S: Don't get the first year car! Let's people give you some feedbacks about this car and manufacturer fixes the issues... I had so many issues with my first year 2012 650i and software update fixed some of them after 6 months of ownership! There are many luxury cars out there (MB)…. There are many sport cars out there (Corvette, Camaro, GTR,..) and also there are sport- luxury cars out there (Porsche, MB AMG), but for 100-120K car (MSRP) I believe M6 is the best choice that have both of them... not extremely luxury and not extremely sport car but a good trade-off for the money you pay... I know Audi S6/S7/RS7 and MB E/CLS/S/SL AMG are other options as well, but I paid for M6 because I felt better behind the wheel of M- Cars The only cars that I would consider (in this range) are S63 Coupe, AMG GT S and 991 GT3, but again I have to see how this works in next 1-2 years since they are in their first year. Jag F Type R is another option if you like a powerful and nimble car with nice exhaust sound, but it's a small car! I had tough time to get decision to get my M6 back in summer 2013 and was thinking about different cars… 911TT, SL63 AMG, CL63 AMG, Maserati GT, M3, RS5,… but after all test drives I chose the M6 because it was the only car that put smile on my face and I had hard time to figure out how to control this torque monster LOL … DCT was another thing that convinced me to get the car. The well-tuned stiff suspension, handling, differential, CF roof, aggressive body/bumpers/rotors/wheels, beautiful full merino leather, instrument cluster and steering wheel were the rest of them .... She doesn't sound amazing like MB AMG, but to me it's not a deal breaker...

It takes me about 9 months to decide on what car to get next. I calculate you did it in under 6 days. That's impressive!

Thanks Doug. I know it looks that way, but it probably was closer to 9 months. I only posted when I was down to the nitty-gritty. It's funny, but in retrospect, it came down to HP/$, within the frame of a premium vehicle.

Yeah you are right... RWD is kinda hard for where you live, but you are losing a big fun. I encourage you to have some good seat time behind the wheel of MDCT car to enjoy the ride... However I understand the joy of your MT 1M... I'm a manual guy and have driven manual cars for more than 20 years. DCT is not the feeling of truth manual, but it's another fun to drive...

The 6 is a very nice car for the price point. I'm either considering an X5/6M next. But nothing is exclusive as the 6 for the price.
