New to the 6 club - So long 5 club
We're all family right? Short story is, I had a great deal lined up on 2014 650i GC. It was in New Jersey, I'm in Kansas City, Missouri. They played games right up until I was booking my plane ticket, tried to tack on an extra $500 to the price and we were done talking.
I decided at that point that if I couldn't get the best deal, I'd get exactly what I wanted. I first saw this car at the KC auto show about 6 weeks ago. I fell in love, but I don't buy brand new cars. To get to the point, Baron BMW worked with me to get this 2015 out the door before their 2016's arrived and we agreed on a good price. I traded in my 2008 535i. I've got plenty of questions, but I'll keep searching before I start asking. Last edited by Chad McCan; 04-12-2015 at 11:15 AM.. |

Can you post a couple pictures that show off the spoiler? I'm thinking about adding one to mine, but still on the fence. Also, I love the black wheels. I took some OEM 373s and had them powder coated gloss black. I just installed wheel spacers yesterday to give it more of a flush look. |

That's exactly what they did with these - 373's powder coated glass black. Here is a shot of the spoiler when the car was still on the showroom. I'll get you one more when I get outside. My opinion is - You're going to want one. They look GREAT. Also, I would have preferred the "M" replica spoiler with the middle cut out to match the M roof line.

I think you're right about the spoiler...time to tell my wife that the wheel spacers weren't really the last mod I was spending money on.
Your wheels almost look like they have spacers on them, but maybe it's just the angle of that photo. They look pretty flush with the fenders. As you can see in my photo, I took the x-drive badge off and put glossy numbers on. I also went with a color-matched license plate frame from bimmian. Only other mods for me were a JB4 and an intake, to get a bit more power out of the 6-cylinder. I love everything about the GC, to be honest. Not sure what tips I can offer, since you had a 5-series before. And, my GC may not have all the same options as yours, but feel free to ask any questions you have. In the meantime, ENJOY!!! |

I didn't see wheel spacers on the addendum, but doesn't mean they aren't there. I do like that black glossy 650i badge. Subtle.
Talk to me about the JB4. I had one on my 535i and really liked it, but I was constantly questioning if it was causing problems with my turbos. How is the install on the 6? |

It was a fairly easy install, but I had to email BMS for one thing. The wires weren't long enough - or, didn't appear to be - but, I just needed to pull some out of the housing to re-route them for the 6 GC install. No big deal, but I thought they sent me the wrong kit when I was already midway into the installation. Once installed, everything has worked great! No issues at all. I had an issue with one on my '13 F10, but that was only because the unit got pinched in the wiper mechanism and shattered it to pieces. They replaced it without charge, which was awesome of them. Admittedly, I get a bit nervous doing a mod like that on a $80K+ car, but I think the risk isn't all that high, personally. Maybe it's in my head, but I like the reduced turbo lag that the tunes give you.
The GC has such sloping angles when you look at it from the rear, that I didn't like how the OEM wheels sat inside the fenders some. Here are a couple more after pics that show how they are now flush. I'm heading to the garage now to change the matte vinyl on the side reflectors to glossy. I haven't had luck getting a good color match on replacement reflectors, which is why I cover them with black vinyl. |

Chad, welcome to the group. I have the exact same car less the black wheels and the spoiler. I've been doing research for customizing ride height, exhaust and wheels. And got mine from Baron as well. Worked with Al. With finding limited customization options for our 650s, keep in touch so we can swap info if you plan to further customize. You part of the KC BMW club yet? If not, it's a pretty cool group to hang with. A lot of people there who love their cars. If you join, I'll see you around.

I'm pretty happy with the ride height of my car as it is, but exhaust could be in the cards. The only other thing I plan to do is buy a set of 19's and put Blizzaks on them sometime before winter. Glad you're in town! |

That looks great. What spacers and mm did you end up going with?

I went with 10mm in front and 15mm in the rear. Got it nice and flush. Admittedly, one could go with 12mm and 18mm for a slightly more aggressive look and still be pretty much flush. I'm very happy with the 10mm/15mm combo, though. It looks perfect, in my opinion!
