I guess one of the good things about SoCal not getting snow is that we can run our summer wheels/tires all year round. Seriously though, I hope winter isn't too rough on you guys this year; it's been pretty bad these past years.

You are correct sir. Driving like an asshole should only be reserved for times when there is no snow; this is why everyone in LA drives like an asshole. *

I wasn't trying to be insulting in any way but you should see how some people drive here when there is wet ice on the ground. It's funny to see the SUV stuck in ditches on the side of the road because they think they are invincible. All wheel drive doesn't help in braking and cornering. Having snows is day and night, anyone on the fence about getting them should definitely make the move.

Had to buy new tires for the car. In the past I'd need a set of winter tires...., this time I got to buy some nice performance summer tires.

Why are you stating the obvious?

Because most people do drive the way you say not to, on summers or all seasons!

(The average person imho will avoid a car altogether when it comes standard with summer only tires)

I'm surprised when cars only offer full blown summers as standard, like on a Subaru WRX. Can't remember what a GTI comes with, all-seasons I would think....

I'll probably put mine on within 3 wks, because my summers are worn in the rear (fronts still good at 50k due to having snows in the winter)...

Gonna do it myself for the first time (I was one of those let the dealer do it while under warranty peeps).....got my Euro formula at Walmart like $26.xx per 5 qts., at least it's better than $8/qt......

Couldn't agree more. Since I've moved down here 2+ years ago I've noticed I'm probably the only character in Dade County to use a thing called a blinker. its a stalk that sticks out of the steering column on the left side that warns other drivers of your intent if you are going to change lanes in either direction or even better, if you plan on slowing down and making a 90 degree turn.
