Garage Door Opener Programming

Hey, anyone else having issues trying to program the garage door opener function on the rear view mirror? My dads car is a 2016 650i xDrive

I've done what the oem manual states:

-Clear codes pressing 1 & 3 buttons untill it blinks fast
-Press & hold desired mirror button and simultaneously pressing garage door opener until it accepts the code (goes from solid to a rapid blink)
-Press Garage door "learn" button and then press the applicable mirror button..

Only problem.. the garage door doesn't respond after programming.

I've programmed my F30, a C7 vette, and multiple other cars using those same instructions and never had an issue.. his car however is being a SOB.

Hmmmmm. Sounds like you're doing it right. I have the same car. No problems.

Could be rolling code garage door opener. In that case you will have to hit the button on the back of the garage door opener itself not the remote in order for it to learn

He states he did that but still didn't work.

I have the same problem - I have Hormann and tried even programmiíng via the garage door opener and still no success..
