Nothing Gets The GTR Owner Worked Up More Than the Sight Of An M6
It's funny. I NEVER drive to intimidate people. Never try to race. Keep to myself, etc.
However, it never fails that when a GTR pulls up next to me, they start revving the engine and trying to toy with me. Yes, I know the GTR puts the power down significantly better. The difference is.....I don't care. I still feel superior. No need to prove myself to them. Just an observation. Thank you, drive through..... |

From a dig, I won't even bother - save your gas and your respect and just tip your hat. Same goes for the RS7 and CLS/E 63 AMG S, Panamera Turbo IMO - those cars have easily repeatable sub 3.5 second 0-60's

GTR is fast with no doubt and can beat M6 from standstill due to AWD, but when GTR cannot take advantage of traction and both car have traction issue to jump off the line (wet road) or at rolling start it's different story ...
M6 is a monster and smoke most of high performance/fast cars.

I guess the guy at red light you met drove a used CBA gtr owned by some kid who still lives with his parents spent all his hard earned money (probably as a starbucks brista) towards financing his beloved baby, and thats probably why he took a red light race so serious.
However most DBA gtrs(post 2012 model) are within 75-85k range and brand new could touch 100k, and those owners are far more responsible adult driver who dont bother to prove their success at public roads. purely subjective view, just my 2cents |

I know a couple GTR owners. At least 2 of them own M6s too, others have your usual Italian thoroughbreds as weekend cars as well. So I can't say I completely agree with this. It's not like the M6 goes for 2x the MSRP of the GTR and causes GTR owners "sticker envy" or is even a car to which the GTR is usually compared to by the press. The GTR is a great car in its own right, not my cup of tea as it seems a bit unrefined to me and i'd rather have a 911 Turbo over it, but still a great car.

Of course, so much of this depends on the driver. My father has an R8 V10. Theoretically, that car should take me. However, I'll school him all day, every day in my M6.
Put an 80 year old woman in a Gallardo and I'll destroy her in the M6 |
