BIMMERPOST NEWS
UK Debut: The new BMW 6 Series Coupé

07.10.2011

Now in its third generation, the new BMW 6 Series Coupé takes the luxury 2+2 concept a step further by matching enhanced comfort and elegant design with sporting performance on a even higher level. The BMW 6 Series Coupé features a sweeping coupé roofline while the long bonnet, short over-hangs, set-back passenger compartment with Hofmeister kink, long wheelbase and flat waistline embody the typical proportions of a BMW coupé more than any other model.

Two exceptional BMW turbocharged petrol engines and a twin turbocharged diesel powerplant, a newly developed chassis and a host of class-leading driver assistance technology ensure that the new BMW 6 Series Coupé is full of substance, while interior space and comfort have been enhanced.

Looks amazing. In every way it's better than the previous one and looks good with a proper M-sport option. When I see the new 6 on the road it looks a lot less bulky than the previous model but it still has presence which is great. Can't wait to see M6.

Wow the performance/fuel economy combination of the 640d is just ridiculous. I know these are imperial figures, but compared with the 640i, it's simply unbelievable.

I guess more reviews will tell the tale Time will tell, the diesel is so quiet now one can hardly tell the difference ... I drove a 3 Series in Germany last year it was very quiet indeed ...

Diesel runs 0-60 in 5.5 wow. Is 51.4 mpg measured with imperial gallons? I would think so.

Sorry, I don't think it has short front over-hang, at least not compared to the 5 or 3 series.

That's a seriously nice looking car. Can't wait to see and have a test drive up here at Santa territory.
BSM is my choice for this one, which would give it a more compact and sporty look

Beautiful car, two criticisms however. Long overhang on rear end looks out of place. What is up with the way the cabin is skewed towards the drivers side making the driver side uneven in width with the passenger side. Such a big car, to be cramped for the driver makes absolutely no sense.
