Need to lower with 21" wheels

Would I need to lower my car if I were to get 21" wheels?

Depends on how you like the look of the car, I personally hate fender/quarter gaps so again it depends on how it looks once you get the wheels and tires on there.. Just get the wheels & tires and decide from there.

this is all purely subjective, but i'd say its a requirement to lower the car if you've got non-stock wheels on there.

you can lower without going for wheels, but going for wheels without lowering, it just looks so oddly incomplete

I'm going to go against the crowd here. I've got 21s on my GC and have not dropped it and I think it looks just fine. People turn to look wherever I go. I already scrape some normal driveways as it is so I would prefer not to go lower. Regardless, I haven't really heard of any viable spring/coil options made for the xDrive.

Do you have pictures? I scrape already and don't want to lower the car.

allow me to be frank by saying that its a given people will look at a car (especially this car) with 21" wheels, but amongst your fellow enthusiasts, it still doesn't look right.

of course, we can be politically correct and say that as long as you are happy with it, then it doesn't matter. But let's not lie to ourselves...approval from our peers is a validation everyone seeks to an extent. hasn't stopped by bad taste in clothes, but i want my car done "right"

i can tell you that with H&R springs, i do scrape a bit here and there, but its only on driveways/turns that are obviously steeper than most. i also can hit the undercarriage as i bottom out on a large speedbumps.

i came from a car that was flush with coilovers so this isn't too bad relative to what i had, but stock height was definitely easier

Here are a couple of pics of a buddy's 650 lowered on H&R springs and on a set of Velos S2 21'' wheels.

What are the offsets on those wheels? I don't think you could lower that car even if you wanted to as the wheels don't look like they were made specifically for it. The car does look amazing, don't get me wrong, but the wheels seem to be sticking out a bit much like they were made for an M5/6, it could also be the angle of the photo.

Don't know offsets and I don't believe Forgestar divulges that info. Not M fitment wheels, for the F06/F12/F13, just a very aggressive fitment.

Looking good sk0525, what size tyres do you have on? Are they 245's front and 285's rear? And how wide are the rims?
