Firmware update information?

Has anyone had the latest firmware updates from April 16 onwards and if so how much of a difference have they experienced with it?

gtr_skyline am I right in saying you've had the update through Adam?

Would like to know if there is any point or if it is just a minor update.

Mine was completely re flashed at the dealer about 3 weeks ago. All I've really noticed so far are some minor tweaks to the digital cluster graphics (better but not profound).

The latest software was released last week. Provlems with 1,2,3series so bmw are looking into it before updating.

Adam is still updating and has had no provlems,

-gearchanges are smoother
- dsc is less intrusive
- seems to effect handling aswel

I assume the main dealer will flash it for free on my next service visit?

No point in paying for it to be done by Adam.

I'll give Williams a call in the week and see what they say.

They'll only do it if you have / report some electrical issue otherwise they won't do it as part of the service hence why people do it themselves or pay to get it done.

Worth pointing out that if you've updated your nav maps the dealers back them up but require the fsc code used to install them back on to the system. Because of this mine went in on Friday and came out on Monday when the master tech was back in.

i think you will find you dealer very UNWILLING to do this update just like the guys on m3 cutters have found hence why ive been doing alot of there m3 and m4's

Hi - Adam did mine but it was a minor update for the dash only - as mentioned previously, display looks sharper, KM/HR now appears in speedometer gauge - takes some time to do - esp for Adam but a slick job none the less. Keen to see if the recent gearbox and traction control firmware update (which all M3/M4 owners are praising for improved gear changes, economy) is available for our cars and who may have had it applied.

Ah I see thanks for the messages guys, I thought people were only paying for updates if they were out of warranty.

But if it's not something the dealer will do (typical eh!) , then I'll give Adam a bell to sort it - he's a top lad.
