Jumpstart fail, fried ecu or fuse?

Hi guys,

Somebody at my shop jumpstarted the car and shorted it on the jumper cable.

It stopped running and now i get gearbox and diff failure.

Blow fuse? Where?

Or fried ecu?

Thanks

Never ever jump start a bmw. With so many electrical systems including a battery management system jump starting is a recipe for disaster. Sorry to hear what happened.

Garbage. There’s a jump start procedure in the manual. Perfectly safe if followed correctly.

I wouldnt connect jumper cables to my M6 even if you paid me $1000. Enjoy your electrical gremlins that will start appearing soon.

Lmaoooooooooo, The Manufacturer describes a procedure in Your Official Owners manual for your vehicle, that many people have performed with no issues, but you would rather believe an old wives tale instead of BMW who actually MADE the car.

Go to the App Store for your mobile device and download “BMW Drivers Guide”. Follow the prompts to enter your VIN. Now you have the manual.

Jumpstarted mine as well and every warning show at idrive, restart the car by turning off and turning back on clear all the message.
