My First 6, please advise RFT and comfort + will it give me the ride I desire?
Hello all, I've been looking at a very clean 2013 650i GC for about a week now. I currently drive an e60 535XI, and I initially moved to the 5 because i wanted a more comfortable ride than a 3-series. I switched out to non-run flat within a month of getting the 5 for a much better ride.
I love the look of the 6, its amazing but I'm wondering if this car is for me ride-wise. Is it possible to get the nice smooth ride of a 5-series in a 650? The one I drove, had some vibration and bad tires, they are saying it would be addressed as part of the CPO. I also noticed i was barely able to tell the difference in the actual softness of the ride when switching from sport to comfort+. The dealer claims it will all be fixed with alignment and new tires, so I'm waiting for that to be done so I can drive it again, but I'm wondering if I would ever be satisfied with the ride and this is why I'm reaching out to this community for an opinion. Maybe there is something wrong with this car? I've driven in a 6 before and remember being astonished that the ride softness could change so easily with the push of a button, but i didn't experience it in this car. This car I'm looking at is an M-sport which is an absolute must for me, comes with 20" rims and RFT tires. Do you think in comfort+ with non-run flat tires I will be happy? or will i need to go to 19" rims and a new set of tires. Each one of these options adds more to the cost of ownership, so I'm trying to figure it all out. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer me, I hope soon to be part of the 6post family. |

I had a 550i before my current 650i M sport. Non RFT did the trick for me.
It makes a huge improvement. |

It makes a huge difference - run flats suck, especially in 20" with a 35 and 30 sidewall!

The F06 feels identical to a 5 series F10 but a little heavier. It's a nice balance between comfort and performance. If you want ultimate comfort, the 7 series is like sitting on pillows but then it lacks the sports feel of the 6 series.
