Went with the ar downpipe. If your looking for sound then its def. Not what your going to get. You will loose low end torque unless you get a tune or a sprint booster pedal box. Uptop the car will pull like a frieght train. Also your car will smell like rotten egg of you go catless from time to time.

From my understanding, castles downpipes will have less air restriction, therefore obtaining more hp from the downpipes.
Negatives is the smell and potentially being too loud. I have been contemplating downpipes for a few weeks. Leaning towards AR. Any one know any deals or group buys |

Ask in M5 or M6 forum. Don't have a name for you.

General question - does anyone know if gaskets on the turbo side need to be replaced when installing catless downpipes? If so, is there a part number?

I do not see a part number/gasket on the turbo to downpipe side...

Checked with the company and they said it doesn't need replacement if they are in good shape. They gave me part # 18307553601.
Finally got the downpipe installed and I have to say the turbo sound is SO much more pronounced now that you can hear it through the exhaust. Is this typical? The exhaust is now 2x louder than before but it is not overbearing especially at cruising speeds. Last edited by AmooManiak; 02-12-2018 at 10:40 AM.. |

how's the smell?
I've got my eye on the AR design downpipes with ceramic coating. They are dreamy
