What suspension are you using on your Gran Coupe ???

Hi Guys, I get delivery of my new 14' 650 xDrive GC at the end of the week, and I want to lower and install spacers immediately... Question
Is that what are all the GC's using for lowering suspension? Ii hear some guys are using kw coilovers but there aren't any part numbers available for the GC at all. I did see however ACS makes lowering springs, but I didn't have a good experience with AC Shnitzer on my last generation 6.

Beaides weight ratings are the 650 coupe and the 650 gran coupe sharing the same fitment of springs? Of shocks AND springs?

I'm wondering I order coilovers for the 650 coupe, if they will fit on the GranCoupe... Even more interesting, I am wondering if they fit on the xDrive version?

What are you guys running on your GC?

You bought too early. Not much out there.

I used H&R lowering springs. The drop is perfect and the ride is just as smooth and responsive as factory. The suspension settings work perfect as well.

Thanks euroKar Did you use springs designed for the coupe or convertible? Is your GC an x drive ? I can't find any part numbers!

When I lowered it there were NO part numbers confirmed by H&R either. I used springs from an F10 550. Worked perfect.
Just like I used the same springs to lower an M6 Gran Coupe.
I'm not 100% if there is a difference on a x-drive. I bet you it is the same. They just wont say that because they have not built a set specifically.
The springs are not expensive (Call Optionsauto.com) They have great prices.
Your suspension is easy to change out. $400-$500 max is what anyone should charge you.

After discussed with lots of folks on forums, I decided to go with ACS. Some guy also switched from H&r to the acs..

For the H&R: It drops vehicle a lot, plus gives you some handling improvement, but it does stiff the ride. Some folks also mentioned it will cause a bouncy driving experience on the highway. Price is around $400-$500.

For the ACS: It does not drop the vehicle a lot, but definitely there is no bouncy ride. When you are cruising on the highway it feels almost stock, but when are doing a fast corner you will feel the ride is more stable and far more less body roll. The price is two times of H&R.

Both are nice springs, if you want to end up mods on handling, I think the ACS is a better option. However, if springs is just for a nice looking and you will go with some more expensive solutions (coils) just take H&R.

Winter is coming soon in Canada, so I would test out is the ground clearance enough for usual winter driving first, and think about put on springs after the winter.
