I believe there finally is a bulletin from BMW to have their techs either replace the guide pins and or lubricate.
The brakes are installed with no lubrication on any of the contact points from the factory.

In most cases I receive, I have lubricated the pins and contact points on the pads and have had great luck with that.

For none ceramic, there is an updated break pads with weights on them from BMW that will take the noise away completely.

And I just got updated break pads from BMW for my ceramic breaks.
The squeak is 90% gone.

Are the updated brake pads something bmw changes out under warranty since stock are very noisy?

I have referred the brake bulletin to my SA several times at Vista BMW and he keeps telling me that until the brake pads are worn out there is nothing he can do.

Yep the brakes squeak especially after traffic for a few minutes and it gets worse

Took it into the dealership and was told the same, perfectly normal during stop and go traffic

I live in Canada and you can purchase full Maintanace package which includes pads, roaters and clutch.
So for me it was free replacement, if you don't have that you have to pay.
I did it at BUDDS BMW in Oakville.
Hope this helps.
