2016 M6 build

Just got confirmation from my dealer that the 2016 M6 will be available for order in January. With the spool up to the holidays, shopping and family events starting to stack up, the next 3.5 months will be plenty of time to get some ideas for the car.

From the dealer, I'll be ordering:

SG, full black leather, oak trim, CP with the 343 wheels, EP, Drivers assistance, and B&O sound.

Questions:

1. What is the "Enhanced USB and Bluetooth plus Smartphone Integration" option?

2. Is there an option for the rear seats to fold down?

Other options I'm considering:

1. Vorsteiner rear diffuser. Must have, but I'm not a fan of CF. Maybe have this part coated or painted?

2. Muffler delete.

3. Burger tuning or coding?

4. 4" exhaust tips? Matte black and not rolled.

That's on the list for now, but hanging around with a bunch of enablers will probably change this list and the $$$ I'll be sinking into this toy

1. What is the "Enhanced USB and Bluetooth plus Smartphone Integration" option?

it lets you use all the apps right on your car through your navigation screen

2. Is there an option for the rear seats to fold down?

Depends on the packages but i believe its available, ask your dealer

Other options I'm considering:

1. Vorsteiner rear diffuser. Must have, but I'm not a fan of CF. Maybe have this part coated or painted?

great piece, we just installed a painted frp diffuser from Enlaes and also looked great, ill post a picture

2. Muffler delete.

Easy to do be a reputable shop in your area,

3. Burger tuning or coding?

Burger tuning is the way to go, always great results with our customers with the burger tune

4. 4" exhaust tips? Matte black and not rolled.

Here are pictures of the Vorsteiner rear diffuser I installed recently on a 2013 M6 Gran Coupe
Fitment was perfect ! I really like the aggressive look.
Also have installed a full Enlaes kit as well.

Don't think age has much to do with it. If that were true then it would mean that most of today's higher end sports cars are styled to cater to 20 year olds, and we know that is not the case. I mean, it's your car, to each his own, but at the end of the day, carbon fiber is a big part of these cars and what makes them special. I don't see why anyone would want to hide that . Not to mention that trim will most likely hurt the car's resale. But if that's what the owner likes then that's what he should get. Good luck. P.S. Definitely opt into the enhanced Bluetooth, it will make a huge difference on how the NBT navigation system interacts with your phone.

The enhanced BT is on the list now, thanks.

Not that it matters, but IMO, the GT category M6 should be a bit more refined with something along the lines of burled walnut trim as an option. CF is overdone and you're more likely to see it on aftermarket strap-ons, than on factory high end cars. Opinions are like...., right?

Nevertheless, I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that the oak trim is similar to walnut, which is what's in my E60. Will have to take a look at that, but there's not too many options for interior trim.

Thanks. So aside from price and the angle of the diffuser strakes, any comment on the quality between Vorsteiner and Enlaes?

Well, I don't think you can find a more highend sport GT than the Aston Martin Vanquish and just about everything in the Vanquish inside and out is either Carbon Fiber or adorned by Carbon Fiber. If you go beyond GTs and look at today's thoroughbred exotics, then Carbon Fiber there is the norm as well. I loved the CF in my '08 M6 years ago, and I appreciate it even more in this one, specially now with the dipped roof. I know, opinions... Everyone has one, but I don't think CF is overdone as it serves a practical purpose in these high performance cars aside from being aesthetically pleasing, to most at least. Anyways, the Oak trim is not a bad choice, it's tasteful, I like Grey Poplar better though. I think it works well with black interiors.

As far as quality goes, I have CF parts from Vorsteiner (rear lip), 3D design (difduser) and some others, and as far as the quality of the weave goes, I haven't seen anything better than Vorsteiner. Don't have Enlaes but have seen it, would say it's comparable to the quality on my 3D design, solid, but not Vorsteiner.

I'll take a look at that too. 3 months deciding on interior trim is a prison term with no parole...

It is the GT Haus exhaust system. I chose the 102x80 option. Its huge ! But damn does this exhaust sound like a beast !!!

Difference from Enales and Vorsteiner is that Enales is a little but narrower on the fins and overall design. Enales can match or build to any style of "carbon weave" you chose.
But, to me the Vorsteiner is more aggressive looking.
If you want PM me for pics as I have both set ups

There is always aftermarket suspension, but I am sure the CP is engineered enough for me to enjoy the car as is. As for wheels, I don't want to introduce the chance of degrading ride comfort and giving up the warranty just before hitting that one pot hole lol. (although 325s in the back would be quite mean looking)

Will be quite the project!

If your car is 2016, i guess will be facelifted. Do you think that all body parts will fit ?

I know that 6 series facelift has minor changes for headlights and taillights, but cammo pictures indicate cammo on the whole front bumper also.

I'm asking this because i will order on M6 Coupe this month, and my dealer is 100% sure it will be the facelift.

Now, i'm stacking parts for it, like Vorsteiener full carbon kit, CF Kidney Grilles (IND or Trinity - don't know yet), Agency Power carbon intake , and in spring Meisterschaft exhaust.

And now i'm not sure if these parts will fit if the car will have even minor changes in the bodywork.

If you don't like CF trim, the piano black trim is very nice and simple too.

Everything should fit, all of the mounting surfaces for these should remain the same.
