Considering a Gran Coupe ZCP
Hi guys,
I'm looking for a new daily. Considering a Panamera TT, RS7 or Gran Coupe. Drove an M4 the other day and wasn't too happy with the ride. However, I've read that the Gran Coupe, even the competition package cars, have a superior ride over the M4. Is this the case? Truth be told, I prefer the interior of the Panamera, but the Gran Coupe exterior looks phenomenal to me. As I look though ads, I can't seem to find any with cooled seats. Are they even an option? Are you guys happy with your Gran Coupes? Any recommendations and/or wisdom you can throw my way would be helpful.

I got a SO GC last month and I'm quite happy with my choice, I used to have a e90 m3 and test drove a m4 new m3 before this M6, to me new m3/4 did not have much add on to the older version, so I got the GC, what is phenomena about the car is the way it's drive( and of course, the look is killer!). It has dual personality and does very well with both of them, it can act as a daily luxury sedan, at the same time can be quite fun on a twisty road, and yes, my car has cooling seats.

Go with the Panamera.. Even though it isn't necessarily apples to apples I went from 650i Couple to a Panamera 4S and the Panamera is a better overall car to me.. Fit and finish, ride quality, etc.. BMW's only trump card is the tech...

No regular 6 series compares to an M.. To each his own but if the op is cross shopping an M6 GC to a Panamera the 650i is irrelevant.

Panamera is an ugly station wagon
Interior is nice though, but the can't justify the ugliest porsche ever created go with the M6 GC, you won't regret it except the squeaky brakes and stuff |

heres my take if you are looking at overall "ride" quality. HP a non-issue
Rank in ride: 10) M3 9) M4 8) 3 series 7) 4 series 6) idk... maybe that electric one 5) M5 4) M6 3) 5 series (sometimes I think the 5 is quieter than a 6) 2) 6 series 1) any 7 series

Been in a M6 GC for about 6 weeks now. The ride is a bit on the stiff side sometimes, even at comfort setting, relative to a B7 I just got out of. But the power and handling are nothing short of an incredible improvement. I drove one of the hot Porsche turbos a couple of years ago (Panamera S maybe?) and would take this M6 any day, but I am 6' tall and have exceptionally wide shoulders. Still, I'd prefer the Bimmer. Then again, what do you expect when you ask this question in a BMW forum, especially the M6 section of it?

If you want the best handling, than the Panemera is your car. If you want looks, and fun go with the CG CP. I drove all 3 and decided to go with the M6 GC CP. |

The stock brakes are great but I hear the ceramic ones are even better. As for the extra 15 horsepower of the competition package (CP) - how much horsepower do you really need? Just one more would be a step in the right direction. 15 is more like a small leap. I was so infatuated with the one the dealer gave me to test drive that I did not want to give it back. I didn't even want to wait a couple of weeks as I normally would have for them to get another one in with all the bells and whistles I usually would have opted to get. I have no regrets, none at all, but next time I will get all that stuff. It's a great car made even better with the CP and CB. |
