Recommendation for Front Lip and Installer

I have a White 2012 640i Coupe and just now decided to get a front lip, particularly in black.

Any recommendations or good/bad experiences?

I'm in DC but the prices I've seen were upwards to $1,300. So looking for something cheaper and a good installer.

Unless you really have your heart set on an original 3D, Vorsteiner or M Performance, you can always go with chinese replicas. Depending on the style you want, they're normally around $400 shipped for CF. PU ones are obviously cheaper but you'll need to have it painted. I've installed various lips, skirts, diffusers in the past and they're pretty straightforward, lips being the easiest to install. It'll attach to existing screw holes underneath your bumper and held on by both screws and 3M tape. No need to remove the front bumper. Original ones will have better fitment, whereas reps will normally need additional screws here and there to look seamless. I'm getting a H-style (hamann rep) so I'll let you know how it fits.

Guessing your 640 has the m sport package? I would recommend taking a look at ebay. There are quite a few lips for the m sport. Not really sure about the non m sport. Like ndinh, I think the H style is the best looking and should be easy to install. That is what I am veering towards. I am only concerned about how it will look with the V style side blades and rear diffuser.

Thanks ndinh, let me know how your trip turns out. I was looking at the M Performance lip but I'm going to check out the reps on EBay.

MSUGORGN, yes, it's an M Sport. I'm leaning towards the reps as well. Hopefully I won't have an issue with quality.

I just ordered some CF reps this past weekend:
1. Mainland china made V style rear diffuser
2. Taiwan made V style side blades
3. Mainland china made V style trunk spoiler for the F12

Still on the fence about the lip. I like the H style but just don't like how it wraps around on the side. I wish there was a simple lip that was straight. Decisions, decisions. I will post pics when all these parts finally start rolling in.

Very cool. Have you looked at the V-style or 3D style lips? They don't have the upward sides like the Hamann style one.

I have. Unfortunately I don't love either. The one on the left for some reason I don't like the middle part and how it creates a crater look. The one on the right just looks too square. I finally found one today that I love from end.cc or end CC. Unfortunately, I think the cost is quite high and furthermore, I can't much information about this company or this product anywhere on the web. I love how it contours to the center part of the bumper.

At that price, you might as well go with the 3d design model. Its the best looking lip for the m-sport by far. For me, its this lip or no lip. Nothing comes close.

The 3D Design version is about double the price? I actually like the end.cc one more but to each his own. The 3D Design is definitely my second favorite. The right picture ndinh showed above I think is supposed to be a rep of the 3D but for some reason, that one looks much more squared off and longer out from the bumper than the genuine. If 3D could just make the lip and not have that piece that just goes over the entire bottom side of the bumper, I think they'd save a lot of cost and have a big winner.

Yeah it's double the price. But I need to respray my front valance anyway as it is all rock chipped, so that's another 300 off minimum. The portion that goes over the stock balance is part of what I love about the 3D model. It fits right into the groove on the side of the front valance. It's like BMW designed their front valance for 3D.

There is a Japanese or Chinese 3D knock off on eBay, but I don't think it looks as good. It reminds me of the white trash body kits they make for shitbox Hondas with fartcan mufflers.

I like the end.cc as well. Simple and elegant. Arkym as one also but again, it's pricey. There are Arkym reps for F10's but none for 6-ers.
