Question regarding drop in air filters

Is there any gain by dropping in BMC filters or is it best simply to remove the charcoal filter and retain the stock air filers?

Not sure on BBC filters but just removing the charcoal filters Will give you a boost for sure. Nothing crazy. 5-10hp. I removed my charcoal filters before I bought my carbon intakes.

Did you remove them yourself? Difficult?

I removed the charcoal filters a few weeks ago and would consider it to be fairly easy.

Check out this DIY from the M5 board.

I would suggest acquiring the tools they recommend because it will make getting the screws in and out much easier.

Sorry I didn't see this. No I have a buddy who has a shop. His mechanic did it but I was there. It's very easy minus a screw on the driver side I believe it was. Just a little tricky to unscrew it but other than that it's cake.

Took my mechanic all go 10 minutes. Go to a pro and let them do it.
