Factory Custom AmaroBrown Interior on my new M6 GC
I've been working on this project for the past several months!
Here's some of the custom touches BMW Individual were able to implement for my build: (1) AmaroBrown (vs Black) carpet. (2) AmaroBrown (vs Black) lower door pockets. (3) AmaroBrown LEATHER (vs Black Plastic) A-/B-/C- pillar trims lower parts: (a) front kick panels; (b) front + rear entry thresholds (sill strips/door aperture); (c) lower B-Pillars; (d) rear seat lower side-trim. (4) Black LEATHER (vs Black Plastic) steering column tube trim (5) AmaroBrown LEATHER (vs AmaroBrown Plastic) front seat lower side-trim/Seat finisher (i.e. the piece surrounding the power seat controls). (6) M Performance Steering Wheel in LEATHER (vs Alcantara). Due to airbag conformity/certification considerations, BMW Individual was not willing to cover in leather either the black plastic steering wheel horn pad, or the AmaroBrown plastic airbag covers on either side of the front seat-backs. The photos towards the end are of my M Performance (Akrapovic) exhaust and rear diffuser. Exterior color is Moonstone. It's equipped with virtually every option including Competition Package (but with my preferred 433M non-Competition wheels), Carbon Ceramic brakes, and color-keyed AmaroBrown headliner. Very nice and very individual!
Dxxx721 is the only US spec M6 GC made with that level of leather coverage, there is another with Cohiba Brown interior in Frozen Silver, not sure where it was destined for, maybe Eire. Be careful of the sill strips when getting in and out!! |

Couple of questions, because this car is really interesting!!
- What happened to your drivers seat in the 3rd picture!! - The car has both the M Performance wheel (with leather and not Alcantara which is perfect!) and wheel heating. Normally, if you retrofit the M Performance wheel you lose the heating, as the wheel is not part of the build sheet I assume it was fitted later, does your wheel heating work? - There are 13 US Spec cars with the DVD Changer option, but not yours, any reason why not? - No US Spec cars have the Climate Comfort windscreen (S358A) or Climate Comfort laminated side glass (S356A), do you know why? |

(2) My M Performance LEATHER steering wheel DOES NOT have a heating function. It was KINDLY supplied by BMW Individual on a one-off 'favor' basis (i.e. as recompense for the carpet color screwup), and was hence retrofitted by the dealer. (3) I didn't even know a DVD Changer option is available in the U.S. What's the option code? (4) I don't think the Climate Comfort windscreen nor Climate Comfort laminated side glass options have been homologated for the U.S. market. (5) Do you work for BMW UK (or a BMW dealership in the UK)? Last edited by VintageFerrari; 12-14-2013 at 04:58 PM.. |

Looking at my window sticker, BMW charged me $7,710 for the AmaroBrown Full Merino interior (vs the typical $5,000). Ostensibly, the extra $2,710 is for the matching AmaroBrown (vs the standard Black) lower door pockets + AmaroBrown (vs standard Black) carpet.
Towards the end of the window sticker, there's $3,115 for 'Special Equipment.' Finally, just under that, there's an additional $5,955 for 'Special Order Equipment.' Therefore, it's probably safe to say ALL the extra leather coverage cost me $9,030. |

No, I just like to know the stats for the car I drive! I have all the production data (bar a few cars that have protected individual data) for the M6 Gran Coupe up to close of business on 13th December. |

Great looking car and interior. Great job on getting these done on the car.
On the climate comfort windscreen, I am assuming this is the dual pane glass for the side windows. Does it also come with the sound insulation ? We ordered a 750li individual from our Arlington, TX dealer with the climate climate/noise windscreen and windows. It was a special order through individual. I wish they made this an option for the BMW's. The Texas heat is bad and having that in the summer will make it more bearable. We should be picking up the 7 in the next couple of weeks. It is a Citrin Black w Opal white. |

I also forgot to mention that the side + rear sun blinds were originally supposed to be available in my choice of AmaroBrown or Black LEATHER. I opted for AmaroBrown LEATHER. I was then told LEATHER would be impossible, but that I could have them AmaroBrown ALCANTARA. In the end, however, my car got mistakenly built with Black perforated plastic sun blinds (i.e. kind of similar to my car being mistakenly fitted with Black carpet at the factory). As happened with the carpet, BMW has now agreed to rectify this, and will be sending out a set of AmaroBrown Alcantara sun blinds in due course to be retrofitted, etc.
The door opener covers are trimmed in AmaroBrown LEATHER (vs Black plastic). The Sun visors (+ mirror covers) are all in AmaroBrown LEATHER (vs Headliner-color Alcantara for the visors, and colorized Plastic for the mirror covers). Here's some pictures of the AmaroBrown LEATHER: (a) door opening trim, (b) Sun visors (+ mirror covers), (c) Forward and Side lower seat trim (Seat Finisher). Also some photos of the standard-issue Black Plastic perforated Sun blinds: Last edited by VintageFerrari; 12-17-2013 at 01:11 PM.. |

Double glazing is not an F06/F12/F13 option as far as I know.

Congrats on the M6.
I too spent a few month (about 3) designing my M5 with Individual. Worth the wait and it's actually an enjoyable process.. to create something of your own and see it all come together at delivery.
