2013 gran coupe Climate Control

Is there a way to prevent the climate control from automatically turning on when you start the car? My sales rep. said that it's automatic and can't be turn off. I was hoping he just didn't know what he was talking about. Having to turn off the climate control every time you start the car just doesn't seem right.

Why do you want to turn it off?
Apart from maintaining a steady temperature, it keeps the interior fog free and very quietly too. It's the best ventilation system I've experienced.

Ill have to check mine, but I'm sure it stays off until I turn it back on.

+1, I would not see any reason to ever turn off the system...

I really like the feature but I want to be able to turn it on/off at will. I live in Cali so sometimes it's chilly in the morning and hot in the afternoon. So in the morning you may use the heat and the air (or nothing) in the afternoon, but with the auto climate (no matter if you turn it off before you get out the car) it will automatically turn on whatever was used last. When it's 70 degrees outside I don't want to use the heat. I know it doesn't take much effort to turn it off or on a/c after starting the car but I just wanted to see if it was possible to turn auto CC off. Thanks for your help.

Take it to another dealer. They can code it for you.

Here's one thing I noticed.

If I turn off the climate control, and shut off the car, but do NOT activate the alarm, next time I start up the car, no climate control.

But if I do activate the alarm, then (bam!) auto climate control.

That's interesting! I guess I can do that when I'm not worried about leaving the car unlocked. Thanks for your help!!
