No wrong off sets. "M6 Coupe" will tell you straight.

They will fit but you probably need to add 10 or 12.5mm spacers

Good quality spacers are perfectly safe. The fronts (if you have the FI-R 20x9.5 ET28) are ok as is. The rears (if the FI-R 20x10.5 ET28) will fit and clear the strut, but will sit further in than the OEM wheels. Will need a 10 - 15mm rear spacer for aesthetics.

To add, we recommend a stud conversion kit instead of extended bolts when using a non bolting spacer.

miamiten, have you done a 20x10.5" 28mm wheel on an M6, how did it look at did it clear the inside of the body?

I have seen that combination on F06/F12/F13 M6 as well as non M versions of the same (I'm not a tuner shop or retailer - much higher in the supply chain) Since you asked how it looked I'll answer to that aspect first.

Awful. It's very difficult to tell visually, but the distance between the wheel faces on the OEM setup is slightly wider in front than in the rear. 10.5ET28 on the rear is 9mm further inside the body and is enough to be visually displeasing.

Will they clear the strut? Yes. There is quite a bit of inner clearance even under full compression (though not near as much as a non ///M. Rear axle carrier on Fxx M5/M6 is carried over with little modification from E6x M5/M6 with shorter output shafts so the geometry is a bit different below the upper mounting points)

Would I suggest it or put it on my car? Nope. Just looks wrong.

This very early F10 M5 Prototype is about the same visually as the 10.5ET28 appears on an M6. The camouflage panels bring the body width to within a couple of millimeters of the production M6. The front fenders are also not extended under the camouflage and approximate the front appearance as well with the camouflage panel thickness applied.

You need to know the offset first. I assume you are talking about OEM rims' offsets (if bbs has the same offset) right? The M6 offsets for OEM 343M M6 rims are 31 front and 19 rear however for 343M M5 is 32 front and 34 rear. Having said that there is almost no difference in front end but in rear end the suspension side will not be the same and probably you need to add 10-15 mm spacer. You won't have issue at fender side BTW.
If you are talking about the custom rims then you need to make sure the offset is in range.

The suspension geometry is identical between Fxx M5 and M6. Only the wheel base differs with the F12/13. The 6er body is wider at the rear by a significant amount (in reference to wheel specs), hence the lower offset for aesthetics. A 10.5 rear with a much higher offset than ET28 will still clear the strut as long as the face will clear the calipers and the tire isn't wider than a 295 width PSS3 (I have the CATIA file open in front of me). It looks worse than terrible but fits within the minimum clearance spec.

and the rear are 20 x 10.5 28ET

I took off my BBS FI wheels off my 2013 F10M5 and bolted them right up to my 2015 M6GC.

You have one life to try them all, beauty of cars is you can get another one if its not for you. Silverstone is a pain to clean from denim transfers etc, I use to have an E93 M3 interlagos blue on bamboo, and I would be cleaning the seats day and night..
