Gear Selector Or gearbox being replaced
Fingers crossed i get a new gearbox put in. Im told this is the first issue bmw have had relating to the gearbox on a 6series in the U.K
Just looking forward to getting the power back! The 525d feels so underpowered |

What's happened mate ?? My last car a bmw 2014 730d had a replacement gearbox, and I believe they are the same 8 speed ones as the 6 series, it would occasionally go down to 1000 revs when going up hill and going about 60 mph, then wouldn't shift up unless I flipped the gear stick to switch between sport and normal a few times, occasionally showed a drivetrain fault Bmw replaced it, bill was 8 grand but covered by warranty, got rid of the car after that tho as it was getting on a bit mileage wise Last edited by Rufus123; 02-24-2016 at 04:04 PM.. |

Never understand why so many manufacturers say this it is one way to kill a box but in many cases it is not the manufacturers problem at these miles!
The MX5's interestingly (manual I know) is a fluid change every 5 (the rear diff being changed every 4). |
