That's interesting, now I'm curious and would like to sit in both versions of the seats side-by-side for... science. Definitely not idle car-guy curiosity, nope. |

The cushions in the ventilated/massaging seats are firmer (but I don't personally find them uncomfortable...just firmer)...and the cushions in the non-ventilated/massaging seat is softer. But on very hot days when ambient temps are in the 80s/90s...I do prefer the firmer ventilated/massaging seats over the softer non ventilated/massaging seat because of the circulation of air within the permeable layer below the seating surface of the ventilated seats. The non ventilated (soft) seats feel hotter...and "swamp-a$$" is real. The heat from your body + the residual heat from the seat surfaces being inside a locked vehicle in the hot sun...makes the "soft" non ventilated seats less comfortable on your a$$ & back. I also give points to the ventilated seats (though firmer) in wet weather. The air circulation in those seats helps evaporate wet clothing...from either sweat or rain/snow. And if the temps are cool and your clothing is wet...you can help evaporate the moisture as well as turn on the heat to help with the "chill" affect of damp clothing.

The air circulating through the permeable layer below the perforated leather...wicks moisture away from your body with an evaporation effect. The ventilated seats aren't blowing cooled air on your body, but moving air in a wicking affect. If you get caught in the rain or snow and your clothing is wet...using the ventilation feature can help your clothing dry...and again, your seats and your clothing are not just letting you stew in dampness due to the fans running in the seat.
