Sound difference. catted or catless downpipes to go along with Meisterschaft exhaust

just installed ams catless downpipes to go along with the meisterschaft gt exhaust and lxr pipe. Its crazy loud. The cold start sounds like a ferrari fxx and the spooling it makes sounds like an f250 turbo diesel truck. I dont mind it at high rpms on the freeway but in city streets it just seems ackward lol.

If i switched to catted downpipes will there be a big difference in sound in terms of being more tame. Or is it pretty close to the catless?

i wanted a boost in sound from the cat back and mid pipe but this took it to a whole different level

Thanks

Catted will make a difference for sure, but I'm not entirely sure if it's enough. It's still LOUD lol.

Another alternative is to replace the mid pipe and go catted downpipes, or even go with another system completely. Akrapovic plus downpipes sounds excellent and is very drive-able for day to day. (Cold start is great)

PM and if you need more info or alternative recommendations! We've done many exhaust set ups for both the F10 M5 and F06/F12/F13 M6.

Catless downpipes makes a HUGE difference. Once you put catted downpipes back on the car it's going to quiet it down substantially. I think the AMS catted downpipes will help you achieve a "middle of the road" sound in terms of it sounding good but not being too loud. It's all personal preference though so choose what is right for you.

For me I prefer (and have) catless downpipes, mid-pipes, and Eisenmann Race mufflers so it's obnoxiously loud and I absolutely love it (and smile) each and every time I hit the START button.

I don't believe DINAN's tune removes the CEL.

Here is information I received from Dinan reference catless DPs: We do not code out the CEL just because it is subject to a massive emission’s fine for us per vehicle. Due to this limitation we also do not tune to maximize the effects of a Catless DP. The tune will work but it will not remove the CEL and it will not maximize the potential gains of such a modification.

Hope this helps!
