Fun track day (no grip)

I picked up M6 F13 last week and took her to the track today.
Car is BONE Stock with Pirelli P zero tires 295/30/20.

No grip 1-2 gears. Useless!! Launch control or just gasing it.

At the 1/8 I was at 94mph and at the end of 1/4 at almost 123 with shifting at like 5k rpm in 1-3 gears

Mid to high 11's @ 124 mph is possible when you get used to it...
C&D has reported 11.9 @ 124 mph with M6 GC... Coupe is ~200lb lighter and must be a little faster...

What was your setting BTW?

Pirelli P zero tires (tire pressure at 31psi)
60 degrees
Everything in sport plus except dampers at Sport.

I tried just gassing it and I tried launch control at 2.5k. All useless.
I need better tires.

My goal is 11s with stock setup.

MDM or DSC OFF? and S or D?
DSC OFF and S3 shifting up at 6000 RPM will help a lot... you need to modulate the throttle and not floor it...

Dsc fully off yea I tried the gas pedal dance. Was only able to squeeze in 3 runs so no time to play with it

I don't know why but on bmwusa.com the weight difference is like You said ~200lbs, but on BMW.de or BMW.pl it is just 25kg (!) (~55lbs) (1850kg vs 1875kg curb dry weight) also other european independent services like zeperfs.com prooves that there is only 25kg weight difference:
M6 Coupe:
http://www.zeperfs.com/en/fiche4203-bmw-m6.htm
M6 Gran Coupe:
http://www.zeperfs.com/en/fiche4585-...gran-coupe.htm

Maybe GC version has more standard equipment than coupe in USA market.

I've noticed this in the past. I made a post about it not that long ago actually, most places in Europe list 25kg, but in Japan and America it is about 80-90kg difference.

Why I think the 80-90kg difference is true is because a 640i or 650i coupe vs gran coupe is about 80-90kg difference in weight.

I'm not sure why European sites mentioned 25kg (or 55lb) but 200 lb (or to be exact 180lb) mentioned in BMWNA makes more sense to me. GC (M6 or regular 6er) is 4.5" longer (than Coupe) thus has longer unibody with longer side frames (made by steel), longer wheelbase (heavy steel driveshaft) and longer exhaust (again made by steel or other metal) plus two more doors with extra DC motors (ie soft close door or window up/down motor) in addition to the weight of other materials of two heavy doors (lock/unlock,...). Only weight of the set of OEM 433M cast rims (which are standard on M6 GC) are 20lb heavier than Forged OEM rims on Coupe.

Yes, its 70kg diff between 650i coupe and 650i gran coupe. (bmw.pl official site) So i don't know why the same source gives only 25kg m6 and m6gc... ? Anyway, for 100% GranCoupe is not lighter than Coupe
