Best/Worst MPG?

Still breaking the car in (less than 200 miles) Filled it up for the first time today as the tank was @ 3 quarters. Average'd 8 MPG. I was actually trending at fpr the first 100 miles on the car. All but 40 miles were literally around the block/side streets. For comparison my 14 SL53 first tank computer said average was 14 MPG - similar driving.

I don't think you buy these machines for the fuel economy ... but I will say the 4.4L twin turbo is much more economical than the 5L V10 in the outgoing generation ... AND MUCH MORE POWER!!!!

Not sure about 14 SL63, but this powerful TTV8 S63tu has nice fuel economy. Cursing the highway in efficient mode (and D1) you can get 20+ mpg. If you drive the car the way it's meant to be driven you can get 11-13 mpg depending on how close to redline you want to live
Just keep in mind, in order to generate ~600 HP to push this 4200 lb car to reach 60 mph from dig in about 3.7-3.8 second you need gas

I did a highway trip this week where I was seeing 21-22. But around the city every day I'm seeing more like 12.5. Driving it like I should, I move into the single digits.

I like Data - thus the post/Q.

For the SL, driven HARD, I average 12/13 - was expecting something similar to the 16 F12. Post break-in I expect the numbers to average out.

After break-in you would have better mpg...BTW comparing a 4000 lb car with 4500 lb one as far as gas mileage is not a fair comparison BTW

UK mpg of course, so about 6.3 and 31.1 respectively in US mpg.

Where in the menu do you select the bar chart on the left?

2 MPG was pretty common while on the track, as measured by the BMW LapTimer app plugged into the car:

I usually get 14mpg around town, on open road, best from LA to Vegas 24.5 mpg, average over 21mpg, usually averaging over 75mph. That trip has one 4,000 ft pass, and several vertical ascent / descents of elevation difference of about 2,000 feet, not a flat drive.

Last trip averaged over 90mph for over 146 miles, until traffic slowed and had an average mpg of 21.4, with several stretches going over 150mph. Empty road, and..Off highway of course...
