Screw empty bleeder onto brake fluid reservoir
Pump bleeder to operating pressure and check there are no air leaks at the cap you screwed on or at the bleeder This way you dont have fluid that can eat paint all over the place if you have a leak. If no leaks, open bleeder and fill with brake fluid. I usually fill about 1,5 liters as the car requires 1 liter and you usually use a bit more to bleed it nicely. Pump the bleeder to operating pressure Go to the wheel the furthest away from the fluid reservoir. Remove the wheel. Attach a fluid catch bottle to the caliper bleeder valve. Open the Caliper bleeder valve a 1/2 to 1 turn to let the fluid out. Close the valve when new clear fluid come out. Clean the area Put the wheel back on Go back to the bleeder and pump it back to operating pressure No go to the other rear wheel and do the same Then the front wheel furthest from the reservoir. Then the last wheel When done open the bleeder to remove the pressure Then carefully unscrew the bleeder and dont mess fluid on the car. Check the brake fluid is at the Max mark. Add or remove a little fluid if needed Close the reservoir You are done

Here's my DIY for my last car. It's the same exact procedure for all BMW's.
